The transmission on my MB SUV went into limp mode while traveling in the middle of nowhere when I had the car towed a little over 200 miles to Phoenix, AZ.
A diagnostic revealed that the transmission needed to be replaced. I established contact with a local German Auto Parts retailer who highly recommended 1st Choice Auto Parts based on their inventory supplies, availability and products quality. I reached out to Omar who I believe to be one of the principals at 1st Choice; Surely enough, he had a compatible unit matching the specs I was on the market for. We completed the transaction and the work began.
It is important to note that the installation Omar's mechanic performed was a second unit used to replace the first unit that was completely destroyed and left in a state beyond repair, only 9 days prior. . Once the installation was completed and the TCM re-programmed I returned to Phoenix to retrieve the vehicle, paid my dues and got back on the road to complete the last leg of my trip,; a 10 1/2 hour drive. Prior to leaving Phoenix, Omar provided me with a 90 days warranty on parts and labor.
In the mean time, I was advised that while a new transmission should perform well immediately, it was important to follow a gentle driving style during the initial break-in period to allow the components to fully settle in so I Roger that.
So far, the car has been driven approximately 900 miles since I picked it up. The transmission changes gears seamlessly without any jerking or jolting sensations, especially during acceleration and deceleration. There are no grinding, whining or clunking noises coming from the transmission area while driving. It readily responds to the accelerator pedal, delivering power smoothly and consistently across all gear ranges. The transmission does not slip or hesitate when engaging gears, particularly when climbing hills or accelerating quickly.
Overall, I found dealing with Omar to be a breeze, he is straightforward with strong work ethics. There is no fuss with Omar, what you see is what you get.. He possessed a wealth of knowledge in his field. He is very responsive and always, only 1 phone calls away. Omar is highly intelligent and it shows, he is tech savvy and a fair player. Without a shred of hesitation, whether you are a Euro car enthusiast or not at all 1st Choice will definitely be...
Read moreStay far away from these thieves. I needed a transmission for my Mercedes. Omar from First Choice was my contact at this place. Said he had a transmission with only 65,000 miles. I asked for the VIN so I can pull the carfax on the vehicle and verify miles. Omar said the car has been crushed and no VIN is available. I said there must be a record of the car that come into your business that you removed parts from. Amazingly this place has no records so apparantly they can not prove the miles on any engine or transmission.
Against my better judgement I purchase the transmission. It was delivered dirty and rusty. After instalation in made a load noise. I contacted Omar he asked for proof. While my mechanic had the car in the air on the lift he recorded the video of a loud whining noise coming from the transmission. I sent the video to Omar.
Omar said he talked to the big boss and refused to refund my money. They did offer another transmission however I do not trust any parts from this place. STAY FAR AWAY FROM...
Read moreDO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! The people have committed fraud and they will do it again. I purchased an engine they had advertised online for a Honda civic with 96,000 miles on it. I never got a tracking number from them and continued to keep contact, they had told me that the engine got lost in transit and somehow ended up in VA at a wreckage yard. They decided to used a different company that I was contacting and they got me a tracking number. I then asked the where the engine originated from and they told me VA. So Noel who I was dealing with a 1st choice auto had told me they had the car and engine at her storage yard. Clearly wasn't the case. The shipping company told me that the engine came from Bryant Motor Sports in VA so I called them. They informed me that noel had bought the engine on 7/22 and had them send it to me. That engine came from a 07 civic and the engine has 168,000 miles on it. They are liars cheats and scam artists who think they a get away with fraud. Whatever you DO NOT...
