I am a person who loves to write a glowing review of a company if I have an overall good experience with them, even if there are some parts of the experience that are not so good. By contrast, I do not like writing negative reviews and usually will opt to just not write any review if my experience isn’t good. However, my experience with this company last week and up through yesterday evening (which was the most shocking, offensive and upsetting part to me—how I was spoken to and treated when I called about something last night) has been so upsetting overall, that I felt compelled to write a negative review last night. Since then, I have felt actually scared to look to see if they responded, given how they have responded to some other people who have written negative reviews. Well, I was right to be concerned, as there was a response from the company I saw today, which started off fine but then went on to contain a sentence or two that were nasty and totally mischaracterizing. So I deleted my original review (which I had spent hours last night writing) in order to also delete their mischaracterizing, personally attacking response. I’m upset by several aspects of my experience with this company, but especially how I was treated on the phone last night, which was totally uncalled for, nasty and unprofessional, and then their subsequent opting to mischaracterize me in their response to the review I wrote. I won’t go into details of my experience as I did in my original review (and, due to the limitations of length in a Google review, even my original review didn’t go into complete detail), in order to, hopefully, avoid being attacked again in response. To avoid that possibility, I could just not leave a review at all, but I feel it is important to give others a heads up: I bought a new fridge there last week and while, in fairness, there were a few positives about my experience (such as the new fridge itself, which I'm LOVING, though they damaged the exterior in a few spots which is why I called last night and finally got through to the person I believe is the owner and/or manager there to discuss it, but that--the exterior damage--by itself did not prompt this review--it's all the negatives taken together that did), the negatives outweigh them, and some of the negatives were so uncalled for and unacceptable, in terms of disrespect and outright nastiness, that I am left honestly a bit shaken up. There was no reason for it: I always treat everyone with respect and kindness as a baseline and I think that should go both ways, especially by a business. I’m not saying that the outcome had to necessarily go my way, please understand that—the fact that it didn’t regarding what I called about last night/their damage to the exterior of the fridge--is not what prompted me to write a negative review, nor is/are the other negatives that I'm not going into here, but what I am saying is just that there are respectful, professional ways to interact with a customer or with any human being, especially with one who is being respectful and friendly to you, and has been throughout, and then there is being shockingly nasty and offensive in how you speak to and treat someone, and they opted to go with the latter. That is why I am leaving this review: because being treated with respect was not the overall case in my experience with this company, and being treated nastily and offensively was. I'm glad the fridge is new because if anything goes wrong with the function of it, I would then call the manufacturer and not have to interact with this...
Read moreTERRIBLE!!! I first contacted this business to come out and diagnose the issue I was having with my refrigerator. The gentleman I spoke with took all of my information and booked an appointment for the following monday. I was told that someone would call on that Monday morning to give me a two hour window for the time that they would arrive. When Monday arrived and I had not heard anything from them by 10:00am, I called to follow up. The lady that I spoke with could find no record of my call or appointment. I was told that the first available appointment was Thursday. I took the appointment, but was very disappointed because we had been without a properly functioning refrigerator for over a week. Thursday arrived, the technician came out and was able to diagnose the problem for the $78 fee. He told me someone would be calling to let me know the price of the parts and labor, and that he would return once the parts came in. I received a call from a lady in the office who told me that the parts that were needed to repair my refrigerator had been discontinued (keep in mind my refrigerator is only 3-4 years old) but that they had plenty of new and used refrigerators for sale. I questioned her a couple of times because I could not believe they had been discontinued on such a new appliance. I ended up calling the manufacturer of our refrigerator who told me that they do indeed still make the parts and would schedule a technician to come out. So much for American Appliance's trustworthiness! It seems extremely convenient that they "no longer make those parts", and that I should come on in and check out their new and used appliances. I guess if I was really gullible I might fall...
Read moreThere was only the owner and one other sales guy when I walked in, no other employees. Looked like a ghost town actually.
I’m shocked at how the owner handled an inquiry. I had bought from them twice before so went purchase a refrigerator because the one I bought from them about 10 months ago did not have an operable ice maker in it. I wanted some kind of credit for it because it wasn’t what he represented when I bought it. The fridge spent 10 months unused in an investment property. We only discovered the ice maker inoperable because we went to install the water line. First sales guy runs from me and hides in an office when, says talk to owner who is nearby and hears me use the word “credit.” They fled like insects when that heard the word “credit.” Maybe because credits don’t help pay for the Mercedes parked right in your face when you walk in. So I asked why I’m being ignored after they all scatter and the owner yells from another room, with another customer presents “blank you, I’m with a customer.” I was stunned! Funny thing, 10 mos ago when I went in to purchase the fridge he sold me, he was telling off some other customer.
Honestly people like this don’t deserve the business. Take your business somewhere else, where maybe the owners appreciate returning customers and you don’t have to have their Mercedes right in your face when you pull in. They may have been a good stop years ago but clearly their time has passed.
I think I understand now why I didn’t see any other employees there, I wouldn’t work for them either. Looks like a failing...
