Update may 2022 A homeless man ust stole m sons flip flos. Called the police and they at the pinellas county sherriffs office came out and offered comfort words but no real help. They know there's a community issue with homeless people living in the woods but don't resolve the problem. I wish there was a community effort to clean up this park. Mayne we need to get together and not allow this by taking it up to congress representatives since they are squatting state land.

Really love this park. Well kept and clean. There sometimes seem to be squatting homeless people that come out of the bushes or camping at the green fields but typically are taken care of, although I'm not sure if the park rangers check the area around the big field where some homeless people go in and don't seem to come out. That's somewhat of a security issue to me but besides that the park...

We went there today for The honey and art festival. You have to park off site and walk at least a mile to get to actual park site where all action was. There were about 8 food trucks and a lot of different stands with beads, candles, wood working articles, wreaths and of course honey. I need to mention they had a music band and we liked what they played. Firefighters entertain kids in a bouncing house and their truck. We had a pleasant weather, but big drawback was the walking distance. I like to walk, but this was little too much for me after a broken pelvis. We saw other older people struggling to get back. One lady asked a guy on a golf cart to give her a ride, but he refused, that he is not allowed. Next time maybe they can do something about it. I don't think we will be back for any festival...

Great place for a nature walk and to really get close to Mother Nature!!! Beautiful views of the lake and all the creatures that inhabit the nature park. Great dog park too from what I hear! I love walking around with my friend and play our Pokemon Go game! There are 2 Pokemon Go gyms & several pokestops throughout the whole park! It is SO family friendly!!! I just can't say enough about how beautiful this place is! Literally the ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the parking lot 😭 It is NOT a handicap friendly lot. The gravel is horrid for the motorized handicap vehicles... It even hurts to walk on it with just normal shoes. They should REALLY pave the parking lot because it would be so much easier for the handicapped patrons to park & use their required motorized vehicles......

What a GEM right in the middle of the bustling Area between 49th St. n US 19 hidden by the surrounding neighborhood is this Absolutely beautiful trail / park , walking i did about 2.5 miles and encountered a great deal of wildlife....the beautiful birds that we are so fond of but we came across many turtles, a grass snake and even a gator sunning its self....the trail offers some variety as well going from grass to small quaint bridges , to shale , there's lots of big Oaks along with Palms and Mangroves offering lots of shaded space, i found that even though it was a Sunday morning and seemed like a busy morning and yet We didn't get the sense of being in a crowded park... Perfect for walking, biking and a Perfect Picnic spot is sure to be found Well worth the VISIT

Found out about this place from my kids school crossing guard we walked from our place there 2 days in a row saw the baby alligator both days and turtles and tons of birds. My boys are autistic taking them places can be challenging especially with a 1 year old girl as well however it was so peaceful and plenty of places to take a break or have a snack they did great so we went back monday after school and saw the big alligator! They were so excited !!!

This park is mostly a path around a lake with fencing and foliage on both sides. There is a part with a large open field. There are a few over-water gazebos to look at the lake. There is a playground. Dogs are allowed on-leash and they have a dog water fountain/bowl system. There was plenty of parking when I went. I did not see any alligators like others have reported seeing.
