Never had an issue with the apartment itself until they started doing work OUTSIDE the apartment. Digging up the ground and throwing foam down into the basement caused mice to come Up through a hole in the wall that was behind my dishwasher. Now that’s issue one. Another issue was with parking! Other residents have no courtesy and park Infront of your building while they live on the opposite side! I had just bought my brand new car and One of the parking lots were “closed for construction” the side of the road parking was packed. The only spot left was handicap. Bear in mind I’ve already been living here for months and I knew most Of the residents around me and there was only one person who was handicap but we had 3 handicap spots. So with the circumstances I decided to park there and get up early to move my vehicle. That morning I got up at 6am to see the pace empty. it was gone! My car had been towed by “their” tow company that just drives around at night and randomly tows your vehicle if you are parked improperly. I was furious at the fact that the office knew about the parking situation and didn’t give some leniency when it came to this! An entire parking lot was shut down so to THEIR “improvements” they were making and now every resident that lives in that side had to find parking in other people lots then I got slapped with a $400 ticket to get my car back! Another thing, Residence don’t keep their damn animals on a leash! My daughter was almost attacked by a dog that was running up to her and barking because he was not on a leash. Thank goodness my husband was outside and started yelling and chasing the dog back while the owner was casually walking around on his cell phone not paying attention. Then when my husband yelled at him he just called the dog and walked away with no response or even apologizing! I’ve lived in a spot where the most entitled Indians choose to migrate! Another issue I had was the day of moving. I had an agreement with another apartment owner to get my keys by a certain date so I could move my things. Day of moving came and unfortunately the owner told me I was not able to get the keys yet and had to wait an additional day. I went to the leasing office to explain my circumstances and Trish who was very off putting and rude to say the least, told me I had to called Mariama. Called Mariama. left a voicemail no response or callback. Yes that day my lease was up but I figured my leasing office would be understanding as it is just ONE additional day and I don’t mind being charged for that one day instead of paying more money for a storage and hotel room and I’ve lived there for over a YEAR (lease at 18 months) payed my rent of 2200+ on time every time! I continued on with my day packing and waiting for a response. Never got a call back until 9am the following morning from Trish. Trish said to me you were suppose to turn in your keys yesterday. I said yes ma’am I know but I was there yesterday I did speak with you about my circumstances. Before I could finish saying what I had to say Trish said well I already told you we are on a deadline with the state inspections and we cannot give you another day in the apartment your lease is up! So now I’m upset because that was not what was told to me I asked Trish okay so just put myself and my children stuff on the curb? She then proceeded to say return the keys by end of day. End of conversation I called Mariama again to no avail. After that whole fiasco, I returns the keys and got my deposit mailed to see $700 deducted from my deposit. $150 for removal of item (i left my couch behind to no choice of my own) $225 for “Reglazing” a tub I could not clean properly my entire stay because the paint the use allows the tub to STAY dirty ! And when I say I tried to scrub it Ajax, Clorox, Brillo pad everything! All in all it’s a HARD NO! Staff never picks up the phone. Maintenance shows up a month after. Open work orders never get open. More worried about outside appearances that tenants or inside...

This is genuinely the worst place I've ever paid to live at. I went 6 months without a closing bathroom door. Their "fix" would last a day before the door would settle so badly it was physically impossible to close. My unit drew too much electricity when I used my appliances so sometimes I lost power to the whole unit, often 2-3 times in a night. My washing machine tore my clothing, the dryer door wouldn't stay open long enough for me to put clothing in, and the replacememt flooded my floors twice.
My ceiling crumbled and maintenance was 3 days late fixing it, meaning I stayed home from work for three unnecessary days waiting for them to patch the ceiling.
There was bird feces smeared down my living room window for half the summer and nobody from the grounds crew thought to do anything about it. My front steps were crumbling so badly that I rolled my ankle twice. Now it's happening to the door frame. Their temporary fix of painting the door black did a great job, now the crappy vinyl floors they put in are scratched and look just as bad as the outdated linoleum did!!!
I haven't had a working dishwasher in months. This is my second dishwasher. They installed it with someone else's dirty dishes still in it. The sink is too small to hold more than a day's worth of dishes, and then you have no room to wash them. Half the time the packet for the dishes doesn't even melt.
I moved in to multiple outlets not working. The shower temperatures are installed backwards. The wood floors are uneven and have sharp edges. You can hear every footstep and phone call from the unit above you. I could tell you the names, sleeping schedules, abuse patterns, and bedtimes of my upstairs neighbors. The grounds are often neglected, with the grass being as tall as my chihuahua at one point this summer. Cats fight in the basement area regularly.
The parking situation is as bad as reviews state. I got home one night at 11 and I saw six of us sharking the entire complex lot. I called after hours help to ask what I should do. I was told I could risk it and park but if I got towed it was my financial responsibility, to the tune of $370 cash. They will not be implementing reserved parking or visitor spots added so basically you aren't guaranteed any parking with your rent payment.
I'm so tired of fighting them on all the maintenance issues. But don't worry guys they're doing a movie night for tenants only and you have to bring your own outdoor chair, which we don't even have porch space to utilize because we're not allowed to keep anything outside...
Read moreMy son and his mother have been tenants at Piscataway Park Apartments for about 9 years. If you are thinking of moving here, there’s something very important that you should know beforehand. I am still in shock that this was able to occur, and continues to happen today. Carly is the general manager. As a tenant, you have a parking space. This is of course standard when living in an apartment complex. However, Carly has an arrangement with Mirage towing company Located at 1003 Lincoln Blvd. in Middlesex. In July at approximately 3 AM in the morning, my vehicle was towed from a parking space. This occurred on a Friday evening, meaning that I was unable to retrieve my vehicle until Monday, which resulted in a hefty fine, as well. Immediately after retrieving my car, I went to the office to speak to Carly and find out what was going on. She explained to me that because I was not a tenant of the complex, the parking space was reserved for tenants only, and my car was towed. As I said, my son has been a tenant for almost a decade, And I am frequently, nearly daily, at the complex to see my son. The excuse that I could not park in a space that was open because I was not on the lease did not seem accurate or legal to me. After this happened to me an additional two more times, my vehicle being towed in the middle of the night on a Friday, making me unable to retrieve my vehicle until Monday, I became suspicious. I discovered that I was not the only person whose Vehicle was being towed for various bogus reasons. Interestingly, all of these vehicles are towed on Friday evenings after midnight. The tow truck driver is always the same gentleman, who often seems to be impaired. I witnessed Carly on A property golf cart driving around with the tow truck driver following, or she literally was pointing out vehicles to the gentleman. I know of at least five other tenants who have had their vehicle towed and are currently in the process of fighting this in the courts. My opinion is that Carly and Mirage, to obviously have some kind of agreement in which they tow cars unlawfully, and split the proceeds. There is nothing unique or special about Piscataway Park Apartments, so I would caution anyone considering making us their home to seriously factor in the probability that you will be targeted and your vehicle towed for any reason. Lastly, I must be honest and tell you that all of the other tenants that Have been targeted are all of Indian and Spanish descent. Every single one. Of the six people I am thinking of, five of them are Indian, and one of Hispanic descent. Shame on you, Carly, and shame on you,...
