A year ago, I walked into Celli’s and met the owner. After my first powerlifting competition, he told me, “If you ever want to take powerlifting seriously, train with me”—without even asking my numbers. Unsure if this is because I’m a woman or that’s unrelated. Last week, I gave the gym another shot. I planned to do a drop-in, but the owner insisted I sign up. Since then, I’ve been repeatedly scolded for: Taking phone calls, even with headphones. Filming more than just my top set (which then ended up out of frame). Filming accessories, despite needing to track an injury. Having my tripod at a visible height, even though I ensure no one else is in frame. The worst was when I filmed myself alone in the bathroom mirror (fully clothed), stopped as soon as the owner’s wife walked in, yet still got chewed out. That same day, the gym posted a rant calling social media lifters “fame-seekers” while selectively endorsing/ reposting others’ Instagram posts. I left feeling anxious about getting yelled at again. None of these “rules” were communicated upfront—I was just reprimanded...
Read moreI have been a member now for an entire year. First of all the price is a bargain for what you get out of this place. Most other gyms in the surrounding area don’t have the extensive equipment like Cellis, and if they do they have a tiered pricing system to be able to access other certain speciality equipment. It’s a family run gym so not only do you get an amazing array of equipment you also get a sense of community. This gym has members who have been training there for countless years. Ryan and Dana also offer personal training services that you can partake in which you’re getting 1 on 1 personal training from vetted bodybuilding and powerlifting champions. You can ask a question about a machine or a movement and they’ll take time out of their day to help you be better. I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place. Even on my worst day I walk out of Cellis feeling stronger and most importantly better mentally. Cellis is not just a gym it’s...
Read moreCelli’s Fitness Center is an amazing gym! Owners Ryan, Dana, and Noah are passionate, accomplished, and knowledgable lifters and coaches. Always willing to help and enjoyable to interact with - They’re great people. As are the members - Celli’s consistently maintains an A+ gym culture. Featuring quite literally every piece of equipment someone could ask for, the facility is outfitted with an array of squat racks, deadlifting platforms, benches, specialty bars, weights, machines, and cardio equipment that provides members the opportunity to train for any and all fitness/performance/lifting goals. The training spaces and locker rooms are always very clean and well-maintained, too. In sum, I’ve exclusively had positive experiences training at Celli’s, and would highly recommend their facility to anyone at any point on their...
