Danis Super Market — Local services in Pittsfield

This is a fantastic small town supermarket. But a small town supermarket is not for everyone.

They don't have a staff of people constantly tending the produce section. They don't stock 900 different kinds of Cereal and 35 different kinds of Ketchup. You are not going to find a Vegan, or Gluten free section.

They are well known for their high quality Deli and Meats. If the rest of the store is a little Mom and Pop, the Deli more than makes up for it. It us VERY Mom and Pop, just like you want a Deli to be. Fast and friendly local service, top quality meats, regular monthly sale 'packs' to preorder and choose from. And MOST importantly for me, they know what they are talking about. And are more than willing to share cooking and preperation tips.

Corner market prices, old time town store meat smells. For a quick trip to pick up a few things, this is not a bad place. Obviously not as inexpensive as a grocery store, but much better prices than a convince store or the other options in town. The selection in the meat department is fair/good, and the quality is great. The worst part for me is I can smell the meat/deli department every time I walk in the front door. An old fashioned great little grocery store. When you need to pick up something for supper you can probably get it here! A large variety of produce, a dairy section, and ready to go deli salads. There is a good selection of fresh meats as well as marinated meats in the meat case, and even a butcher behind the counter!
