Dollar General — Local services in Plainfield

This dollar general needs a serious overhaul of employees and managers! They do not stay open the hours they are supposed to! Some of the employees are extremely rude to customers! The managers are frequently seen outside smoking cigarettes with each other while they leave one over worked employee inside to wait on a line of customers that is far to long but they won't stop their social smoking time to come in and help. If you talk to any of the employees in there they are all disappointed with the managers at the store. They are frequently out of things on the shelves now and there are always boxes sitting in the isles waiting to be put away but no one doing it because they're all waiting for someone else to do it and I don't blame some of the employees for not doing more when the managers leave them stranded and over worked every shift! I have seen all of this first hand and hear it from a lot of others to about how far down hill this store has gone. For the last 2 nights there has been a sign on the door at 8 o'clock with some excuse as to why they closed early. Tonight the sign says the bathroom is flooded and I am here by myself so I have to close so sorry! Where are the managers when stuff like this happens? Wouldn't you think that is part of a store managers job to come in and help when they're short handed or something like that happens?!?! Due to the poor customer service and just plain mismanagement of this store I am done spending money there and I know a lot of others who feel the same way. They can't even get the old sale sings down and the new sale signs up on time which makes it hard to shop when you fill a cart with soda and get to the register only to be told its not in sale then go get the soda that is according to them then to have that rang up not on sale then they find the correct sale signs and after the third time of refunding and re ringing up your purchase all while the line gets longer and longer and no other employee will take over the other register your feeling stupid for making everyone wait and can see the frustration on everyone's faces growing they finally get it right. I use to go every day to buy cigarettes from there but for the last 2 weeks i get charged a different price for the same cigarettes I stopped and now go to the gas stations in town. And the price difference is over a dollar a pack sometimes. If you say something they just tell you that the price they rang up as.
