The beginning March 2025 Received a quote for 6 new Michelin 19.5” tires for my Class A RV Quote included tires installed & properly balanced with tire weights no beads $3,582.00. That’s over $550.00 per tire a top dollar charge I was expecting top quality service. My mistake, I went ahead with the purchase. They ordered the tires and said they would call me when the tires arrived from the warehouse. No call after 4 weeks. I called them after 5 weeks had gone by and they stated the tires were there and ready. During that 5 week period I had open heart surgery and stated I needed until mid-June to recover enough to get the RV there for the tire installation. Arrived for the installation June 16th early morning. Gave Nate a written document stating Front Tires should be 85psi and Rear tires should be 72psi, please keep the rims in the same location, making the valve stem extensions easier to reinstall, additionally balance them with lead weights. I do not want beads in my tires. Only now I find out they do not have the proper tire weights to complete the job. They then suggest beads for balancing which I had previously stated I do not want. I want the tires balanced property with new proper lead weights. They reused the 16 year old worn out lead weights that came off the tires I was tossing in the trash. They then stated all tires balanced properly with the old weights. Come to find out after talking with the guys doing the work they aired all tires to 100psi. Not the pressures I clearly wrote on a note and gave to the front desk. I then stated “I require 85psi in the front and 72psi in the rear dual's”. Arriving home to find 72psi in the front and 85psi in the rear. This made the drive home extremely dangerous and uncomfortable to say the very least. On top of completely wrong tire pressures, I found the right rear inner tire extension was installed wrong and had fallen off the mounting brackets during the drive home. This required me to remove the rear dual tires and reinstall them properly to align the inner valve stem extension. Here in Montana, it’s drive to get about anywhere, 75 miles and 10 gallons of gasoline plus over 4 hours of the time to get a disastrous installation. Called them after arriving home with the above details. Their response “O We are sorry, mistakes happen” “Bring it back in we will fix it up” NFW am I bringing my RV to them ever again. No mention of any kind of compensation just bring the RV back in. A few days later I received a call from the owner who like the folks in the shop was unwilling to do anything to help defuse the situation. My goal here is to bring awareness to the extremely poor customer service from Baldy Mountain Tires plus the lack of at least a discount off the super high price they charged me. I hope others do not have to waste their precious time and money with this...

EDITED: I got a call from the owner this morning. It all boils down to the fact that I drove back to their shop...and they put the same size on that they had taken off yesterday. Am I satisfied? Relatively so.

Original post: I was impressed that they got me in first thing this morning with no notice and had two brand new tires on my car in less than an hour.

On the other hand, I was NOT so impressed that the tires that were put on were a different size than what they took off....and I had not been informed beforehand. I guess it's a GOOD thing I opted to put two new ones on, instead of the one that I needed. Tires of two different sizes are NOT a good thing and a potential safety hazard!!!! DEFINITELY not impressed with this!

I recommended a co-worker to purchase tires from Baldy Mountain Tires. They did a less than adequate job and I will not endorse this company again. They mounted her new tires without balancing them and tried to sell her brakes that were not needed. She had to stop in Idaho and pay to have the tires balanced. Which cost her more money. She continued on her trip and because of the severe vibration in her vehicle due to not balancing the tires she now has mechanical problems!! Why would you take advantage of a hard working single mom. What happened to honesty and good values. Will not be doing business her again....
