For the most part it's clean but most of the workers are horribly rude. They get mad when if you even think to ask a question about anything in there. My husband and I went in the other day and almost got bamboozled lol we were going to buy some meat that was "on sale" when my husband moved the tag the bottom price was way lower than the sale price. When I asked the man Jose about it he said "oh, someone moved the tag over" ...still not comprehending that I was talking about why the price was lower underneath. We didn't buy that meat. The items they have marked in the back with the orange tags are supposed to be a set, such as the sauce cup that go WITH the lids and other containers that go WITH the lids, when I purchased some last week I got the lids without being charged for the lid, I went back a few days later to buy the same like item in a different size and the guy Jose told the girl to charge because it's separate. He picks and chooses when he wants an "extra tip of the day" and that's pretty wrong considering a lot of the ppl that go in there, go in there for the quality, getting jipped shouldn't be part of the experience. They've gone downhill as far as quality service...
ย ย ย Read moreAs a Hispanic grocery store I love the variety of items they offer. The Mexican bread I did not get to try this time. Last time it was decent. I would get it if I was going to eat it that day. We did however try the hot foods they had to offer. I ordered the green chilaquiles and carnitas plate with rice and beans, and my husband ordered 3 pork tamales. We had thought to buy a dozen tamales but decided not to after trying them first. The flavor was ok, but to us was lacking a little something. They were good though, just not for us. The carnitas we added a little salt which is fine, they were also a bit on the dry side with too many pieces of fat. The chilaquiles were good however have through, the chili gets to you, itโs just too much. They were very tasty though. Rice and beans ๐๐ฝ. We did see workers enjoying their lunches there so maybe stop in and ask what they suggest before you buy. Oh, you need to pay for your meal at the cash register before you can order meal. You just give the person at the food counter your food ticket...
ย ย ย Read moreI have gone to this place before to get produce and certain sweets, and I've usually had a good experience. I have not tried the deli, and their meats are typically okay (my mom goes here to get chicken feet for caldo) However, pretty recently, I had a craving for pan dulce and decided to get some from here. I've had it once before, and thought it was okay, so I went in with the same expectations. I took my pan dulce home and took a bite into the first one and tasted something kind of fuzzy, and found that all of them were covered in mold. I don't think this reflects anything on the store itself, but rather as something that slipped through the cracks. I guess the point is that you should check your pan dulce from here before you spend 6 dollars on...
