Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival — Local services in Plainville

The lack of organization loading up the buses was atrocious, kids and elderly people were being trampled, people running in between buses fighting to get on. I am surprised our kids didn’t actually get to see someone run over by a bus… it was that close. Will never come back to this event. Safety first people.!!! This ruined the experience! Not coming back!

There was no coordination, no staff to guide people or keep ordinance, a bus would pull up to unload passengers and hundred of people would run to flock and shoved themselves in front of it.

I reached out trough their Facebook page to voice my concerns and they deleted my posts and banned me from the event page. It shows how much the event planners really care. My impression is that they didn’t have enough manpower, really poor planning and they don’t really care. Just a quick money grab event.

My family is a huge believer of supporting local events, but unless you don’t mind a mob of people pushing you, elbowing you and shoving you to try to into a bus . I would suggest you avoid this event altogether.

The festival was a great event for families. The shuttles worked great to get us their. Unfortunately, the return was awful. The shuttles (which were going to different lots) picked people up at the same location (obviously a bad idea). Although the police told people the shuttle bus would pull up to pick people up, they did not. It was "survival of the fittest". I was with someone mobility challenged, not handicapped, but not capable of running to a bus. I asked an officer for the best address for the airport lot so I could get an Uber and was told that Uber drivers would not be able to pick us up. I would suggest that next year they have 2 different pickup spots, as they are going to different places. I mentioned it to the police officer and he Said "yeah that makes a lot of sense". Not happy and it also was Insanely overpriced this year. 5$ for the bouncy house is ridiculous! It should’ve costed only 1 ticket. The dude working the one in the middle needs to take a chill pill too. Thinks he’s the Bouncy house police over there. My daughter got out for 2 mins to take a break and he wanted 3 more tickets to go back in. Like dude cmon. Yet I heard him say to someone else that you pay for unlimited time.
