Aspen grove is a super fun place and we had such a blast. I would definitely go back with a large family. Overall I am ranking it 3 stars for the following reasons:
Location - 5 stars It is absolutely a beautiful place and reasonable commute for the airport/city. This is by far the best aspect of the resort.
Lodging - 2 stars We stayed on the fourth floor of Aspen lodge which had a comfortable bed but the AC unit couldn't properly cool the place for sleeping. The blinds covered only part of the window which was troublesome for our 1 year olds naps. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. The floor was very dirty and they need to have professional cleaners brought in. There were crumbs and leftover food underneath the bed skirt. Addiontally the fridge had not been cleaned out and the bathroom needs to be updated.
Activities - 3/4 stars I struggle with this rating because there was so much to do and we had such a wonderful time. The best way for me to describe it is that the volume of activities is impressive but most activities had one or two things slightly broken/wrong with them but that didn't hidder us from having a great time. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is probably not the place for you as finding a quiet place with soft chairs would be a struggle. Note if you go as a smaller family you may find it difficult to sign up for various activities as the larger families tended to fill up the sign up sheets very quickly. Each night had some type of themed activity which is fun if that is your kind of thing.
Child care - 4 stars Admittedly we did not use the childcare but many our of family members did and loved it. The counselors were very friendly and did a great job with the kids.
Food - 3 stars Easiest way to sum this is up is that it is cafeteria food. Some days it would surprise you with how good it was and others it left you with more to be desired. The biggest struggle was the limited time you had to get food. They regulate eating to a very strict schedule. One of the head cooks was very nice and would mingle with the guest which was great.
Full disclosure I did not pay...
Read moreMy family rented a family lodge during New Years. Pros: Beautiful mountains! Scenery is gorgeous! Super close to Sundance Ski Resort Close to Orem and Provo, Utah. The family lodge has lots of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate 25 people. The Hush Activity Center has ping pong, a pool table, etc for the teenagers and a big TV for movies. We had a talent show for our family there. You need to post a sign on the piano to reserve your time for the TV room. Tile floors in the bathroom and kitchen. Cultured marble in the showers. Fun sledding for the little kids. Cons: Mold in the bathroom. There really should not be a window in the shower. The inside window ledge is slanted out so water accumulates allowing mold growth. Mold on the shower curtain. Dirty carpets Not enough space in the living room to accommodate 25 people at one time, just two couches and a picnic table. There are extra folding chairs but it is really cramped. Only one blanket and a thin comforter for a bed. It was -18 one morning. They need more blankets in the rooms for winter. The bed was super squeaky. Dated decor and appliances. Slanted ceilings in the second floor bedrooms. I hit my head at least 2 times a day on it. No key or card to the family lodge. You can lock it at night when you go to bed but if you leave during the day it remains unlocked. I know the center does not want to have to rekey the locks after every guest. They need to get a card system like at a hotel. I guess they figure it is safe enough, however, you are not alone. All the other lodges have people in them too. We accidentally locked our bathroom door. My husband had to take the door off its hinges in order to unlock it. No wi-fi.
This place is popular. We booked it a...

A place for families to not only have fun but also connect. BYU created a gem with this week long getaway filled with activities, games, and plenty of great food. Incredible staff members entertain your children all day in age appropriate groups and activities while you relax or join the fun. Cool cabins, swimming and a sauna for you, at least three playgrounds for the kids.
Between stuffing yourself with breakfast/ lunch/ dinner, adults can play tennis and pickleball, do archery, shooting, hiking, ceramics/ pottery, pen turning, shuffle board, mini golf, lazer tag, escape room, advanced ropes course, basketball, volleyball, gagaball, horseshoes, pingpong, pool, ice hockey, foosball etc.
Aspen Groves keeps things fun with family follies, tournaments and frontier night with all the corn hole and ax throwing you can stomach... if you didn't win the pie eating contest.
Aspen Groves has all the amenities of a 5 star resort yet still right in the middle of the woods smack at the base of the most gorgeous towering mt peaks. Reserve a pavilion or hall for family birthdays or gatherings if there's even time.
I didn't even need to pack so much. Buy everything from ice cream to shaving cream at the store. And join in movie night or go watch one of your own.
There are several featured speakers and seminars on various subjects for adults to join. Sunday includes church meetings and fireside speaker. It's an incredible environment. by the end of the week you almost know everyone.
BYU standards are recommended but I can't stress this enough... EVERYONE IS...
