Disappointed in issue created by Boyne:
I booked a "Stay and Ski" with Up to 20% off lift tickets. However, Boyne reservation system would not accept discount code provided to me in via a unique email. I proceeded to purchased tickets and was charged full price but reached out via email explaining the situation with my expectation the resort to return the difference upon arrival.
I picked up lift tickets (Friday night) for the following day skiing. That evening (Friday) the resorted returned the full amount in the form of a voucher.
I proceeded to lifts, unaware of the return in full amount and was unable to enter lift which resulted in my family holding up the lift lines. I then returned to the service desk (Main log) who then sent me to Lift Services where I proceeded to wait in lines (i.e. not skiing)
Lift service issued me new list tickets at discount BUT would not return the difference in form of cash. Rather a 20% discount in the form of another voucher to be used at a later time. This new voucher of the 20% discount has a one-year expiration on it and is limited on how it can be used.
What's disappointing to me is that issue was created by the resort and now my funds are tied to a voucher and my family lost time on the sloops.
NO lifts will be purchased until that day of use moving forward, so that I am not to negatively affected and I'm not locked in!
I did receive a call from Boyne representative within 24 hours but they were of no help and informed me two groups operate separately.
My recommendation is that Boyne two departments (tickets / rooms) work more closely together and that their IT review system to negate these types of issue moving forward.

Read more3.5 stars. Boyne Highlands runs a great ski slope- lots of programming, good skiing, the lodge is spartan but very cozy in a good way...kind of a throwback and a great breakfast. The weirdest part of this resort is the customer service. The people who walk around the resort helping you with various things are way above the norm- 5 stars all the way.But the front desk and people who answer the phone are ABISMAL, and stranger yet is how consistently bad they are. It's really strange in that it's as though they were all hired yesterday, never have an answer for even the most simple questions. What they really need is a small concierge desk. Waiting in line with everyone trying to check in or out just to ask a...
Read moreThe skiing is good, but don't expect too much since it's Michigan. Definitely a crazy ripoff for a day ticket, but so are all the other places in Michigan. The only time it's worth it are Wednesdays and Fridays (except during the holidays) when they do the $10 lift tickets from 4-10. The cafeteria is horrible though. The 'chicken tenders' are mechanically separated chicken and everything is insanely expensive. Not only that, they don't even let the people who work there receive tips. I just asked them if we could tip them and they said no. This area has some of the most expensive real estate in the Midwest, and I'm sure they don't pay these people, who obviously work very hard, more than $10 an...
