Just what the doctor ordered. My Steller View experience had it all.

As I pulled up to the little modern castle in the sky, I was greeted by the birdsong of early spring. The symphony of species were a soothing first welcome from the busy and chaotic world, now far away from this verdant California paradise. The daffodils and Cala Lillies, welcomed before I stepped inside. The range of weather experience had it all. Chilly bright sunshine made its way through the fog for my strolls along the nearby tree lined trails, warming up enough for shirtsleeves as I gazed through the canopy to silver, orange, lavender skies at sunrise and sunset. Just down the hill a short drive to the beach strolls where the tide pools full of vibrant seagreen and pink enemonies also had adorable families of seals dotting the nearby waves. A quick stop for a lovely cup of tea at the nearby lodge by the fire while watching the epic nature swirl outside in views like paintings.

The Stellar View house boasts all you could ask for. From the incredibly appointed chef’s kitchen (stocked with all the tools you could dream of). This allowed for preparing delicious feasts during my retreat. With speakers throughout the house you could hear your music, podcasts, etc from any location with a simple request to Siri. There are both telescope and binoculars to keep you busy gazing at all that the stellar views have to offer, day and night, from any of the 4 decks surrounding the house on both levels. Hawks, flocks of wild turkeys, ravens, stellar jays and a variety of smaller native birds keep you company as the fire crackles in the wood stove upstairs.

Watch a movie, read a book, play a game chosen from the copious options provided. Strong WiFi enables you to work from this remote and peaceful place should you have to (I did, but not much). We rented a home in The Sea Ranch over the Christmas holiday for our extended family to stay in while visiting us ( we live full time at Sea Ranch). Unfortunately for me, the house we rented seemed to have something usual with the stairs from the master bedroom and I fell and broke my ankle quite severely. I reported this to the rental office as I wouldn’t want anyone else to sustain an injury. The woman I spoke with was quite nice. I did mention that the Cal Fire crew and paramedics may have gotten dirt on the light carpet and she simply said that they would charge us if the carpets needed cleaning. Seriously gorgeous place. The hiking trails are well maintained and easily accessible. Bicycles are allowed on some trails, horses allowed on others. On-leash dogs are allowed, and please bring your own cleanup bags. Three pools are available for authorized guests and residents.
