In regards to the Dearborn location.
On June 22, 2020 I went in to this store looking to price out and see if I could afford new appliances along with a new dryer that I absolutely had to purchase. As I entered noticed a ton of sales people milling about all without any masks to keep their customers safe. I headed over to the appliance section to look at the products I viewed online. I was approached by a man, Junaid “JR” Umer, who as I was explaining my situation cut me off and told me he’s got a great price. Followed the gentlemen to the counter and awaited this information, it was a great price, so I decided to move forward. I confirmed the final price was including taxes, delivery, etc. because who likes surprise additions to their bill. I also confirmed the delivery date multiple times to make certain of it because I’d be taking time off of work to be home floor the delivery. JR said it would be coming from two different factories and confirmed the date.
Delivery day was fast approaching so the night before I made sure to unhook all my appliances so the delivery guys could get them out easily and not take too much of their time. They were fast and professional however, they only had half of my order (fridge, dryer) and the fridge was missing a set screw for the freezer handle. The delivery guys had no information on the rest of the order and said I’d have to contact the store but they’d be back with the screw for the freezer drawer. A couple hours went by and no one returned, so I called the store to talk about the missing appliances and the missing part to the ones that were delivered. I was told that I’d have to wait to speak to my sales associate because the store manager had no idea. The woman I spoke with also laughed and said that no one was coming back out, “and really a part like that, you should just go to a hardware store and get it”. But I thought I purchased whole appliances that I wouldn’t have to repair on day one?
The following week I was able to finally speak to a district or regional manager, Rob, who seemed disappointed in my experience and genuine in wanting to resolve it. He was able to work with my schedule and set another delivery up for the remainder items and to have the missing part sent via mail while also refunding me $100 for my trouble. The second delivery never showed up during the time it was supposed to because the delivery guy, Matt, lied to his boss saying he called twice to attempt delivery and I declined...false. Through threatening disciplinary action Matt did finally come back up around 630/7 pm that evening with the items and get them in.
A few days later the missing fridge parts came, wrong screw and an Allen wrench. So from my original purchase on 6/22/20 to today, 7/15/20, I still have not received everything I purchased.
I will never shop with ABC Warehouse again and would never recommend this option to anyone. In retrospect I would have loved to pay a bit more to be respected by a sales associate and receive the items I purchased on the day that was committed and...
Read moreWent to the rochester store Sunday night to get a second fridge for Thanksgiving. Walked in the back found one as is for 900 bucks. Sold. Went up front to get help talked to Barry. He walked back to the fridge took the tag off. We had short conversation. I was referred to ABC by an old customer of mine. Barry then, continued to bash my friend then joked about he went to school with him smh… we then walked out front and he started to tell me I wasn’t getting my fridge today. He made a comment that he didn’t know who wrote the $900 on there insinuating it could’ve been me. I told him I didn’t have a marker on me and he could check his cameras. I then called my friend who referred me to tell him what was going on well, Berry sat there yelling at me telling me he has the right to refuse service to anybody then continue to tell me he wanted me out his store and police will be called… Will never go there again!!! So I call my buddy when I leave and he tells me to go to the Troy store. So then, Monday night, I drive from work 26 and gratiot, north of Rochester all the way to Troy with an hour before close. Talk to Dan tell him I’m on my way and give him an ETA. My GPS was putting me there at 7:06. They closed at eight. Again, I am just looking for a fridge. I can toss in the back of my truck as a second fridge for Thanksgiving. I get there as Dan is walking out the door. He doesn’t say anything to me so I go inside and attempt to get another fridge again. I find a fridge but now The fieaty little foreign guy tells me I can’t get a fridge because he doesn’t have a stock guy there to load it. I tell him I don’t need a stock guy. My boyfriend is a carpenter and he’s with me. All we need to do is get it to the door. He then tells me sorry not getting a fridge today. At this point, I’m beyond irritated cash in hand and nobody will give me a fridge from ABC warehouse. The next day at work, I talked to my boss. I told her my frustrations with ABC she then tells me to call corporate. So I call corporate. I let them know what’s going on. They tell me someone will get back to me within 24 to 48 hours. Wednesday morning rolls around and I get a phone call from good old Berry…. Smh… he says “is this the girl that wanted the fridge ? I said yes he says the fridge is 900!!! As I’m sitting there waiting for an apology I then tell him I would never come back there and buy a fridge from him that he put me out the store and told me he had the right to refuse service to anyone. I then tell him I will never come back through those doors again to have a good day and hung up. Still no phone call from corporate. I wait until Friday morning and call corporate. I think they are going to do something to make it right, but obviously not. Don’t worry, ABC. I will never buy another thing from there again. Pictured are the fridge and stove I purchased from Appliance for less both brand new with warranties 1600 out the door. 23 mile in Van Dyke great...
Read moreOverall a very bitersweet experience with their subsidiary company, Mickey Shorr, store #6. You have to keep their salesman on top of what you really want, otherwise you’re getting charged more than expected in a classic bait and switch game.
Overall 1/5 experience: they’re gunna fall short and then charge extra if you want the job right. I came in the other day with the intention of getting a couple key fobs and a starter system, and perhaps a touchscreen stereo to bring my car up to modern times.
The salesman, while building a quote for solely the car starter and fobs, asked if I wished to maintain steering wheel controls, to which I said yes. He then continues to build the quote and comes in sub $400. A good price in my opinion, but higher than expected and put the screen in jeopardy of purchase, given the extremely misleading “free install” in the unit listing on their website. First sign of dicey business practices, I should have known better.
I came in late Thursday (yesterday) and got it set up for work first thing Friday morning. I arrive Friday morning right at opening and hand him the key, and request he build me the quote to add in a touchscreen radio, if the price is right I’ll still do it.
He quotes me $510 install on a $380 unit, seems fair to me, yet again, but puts me $100 over budget, I tell him I’ll have to call back shortly with my decision. I decide to go for it even though it’s over budget, if i had known it would be another $100, I’d have declined it and just purchased the car starter system.
When I arrive and see it, everything looks great, and the touchscreen, fobs, and starter work great- they are experienced and get the job done, credit where credit is due.
However, I lost the entirety of my steering wheel controls, including cruise control.
Now he says he forgot to add it to the starter quote (which is what he was building when he asked whether or not I wanted to keep them) and that I “just don’t want to pay for the steering wheel controls” when I just dropped $860 on them for a half days work.
The fact he effectively called me a liar and thief is the real reason I’m writing this review: he built a quote for a service and product, failed to provide himself with what he needed to live up to that expectation, and now wants me to foot the bill when I wouldn’t have bought it that far out of my budget in the first place.
They know how to install the product, but their marketing and sales leaves a lot to be desired, and as long as they owe me the service of reinstalling my steering wheel controls, I have to say avoid this place or at the very least, take your own notes on the quote expectations so the sales manager can remember what he’s providing you. ABC Warehouse has been called but they forwarded me to a regional manager that is impossible to reach. They just take the money and...
