Point Mugu — Local services in Port Hueneme

A good loyal friend was once assigned to and stationed at PT. MGU when he was active as a diesel and nuclear propulsion technician. My boys and I attended several air shows in the past at this US Naval Base. Once the morning fog lifts, it's a postcard view and coastline awesomeness. Several years ago, my buddy invited us to camp overnight on base. This was for the 4th of July weekend fest, open house. We chose to camp in a small RV. Lol.. It did appear we positioned our vehicles at a designated shooting range, nice and not very many people in this specific area. This position is located very near the south point. There is also a section of beach area nearby approximately 600 plus feet away with a bunch of humongous sea lions sunbathing. In addition, there's a sector w camouflaged ground sensors near this imaginary perimeter. However, my buddy would occasionally warn us not to ride our mtn bike past a specific monitored area. No signage is posted, but he sure knew where not to go. "My buddy would say, Hey! Don't trip the sensors.! I'd reply, "Which big rock is a sensor."? The big work shed closer to the water with 30-inch thick concrete walls is where we trained and practiced to arm and disarm anything that went ka-boom!..lol.. I don't want to have to speak with base police this weekend."Lol.(Contractors).🫡 Awesome, having this coastline privacy and safety on a naval base. At the end of the day folks, food coma. Please be aware there are some.oil tar stuff on the beach from Oct 2021 oil leak. Visit: 6.4.2022. You step on those you have to wash your feet with Dawn and baby oil.

Otherwise, we love this beach. No crowds. Limited parking.

Rock meats sea. Crazy to be rock climbing right there in the ocean.

South tip be of the park has 5 it 6 bolted climbing routes. Pretty darn cool.

Don't bring your dog, that's my word of caution...

Also, there is this crazy dude who jumps head first of of the cliff....
