Installers not qualified to wire 220 VAC plug and service techs (parts swappers) can't find what is wrong.
Purchased an LG clothes dryer in April 2018. Sales person stated that the dryer would need to be installed by them and I would need to purchase a new cord for the installation. So I agreed.
The installers arrived on time and quickly installed the dryer and departed. As we were getting to leave town for a few months we did not use the dryer prior to departing. My grand daughter was house setting for us, that is why we replaced the old dryer.
We received a call that the New dryer was not working. Following highlights to make a long story short:
Grand daughter called LG: LG service arrived He checked the mother board said there was no problem. Said there was a problem with the house wiring.
Called my electrician to come and check circuit: No problem with house wiring.
Called Jetson to have one of there service techs check it out. He said motherboard blown would need to order a new one.
We complained loudly since it had been a month and had no working dryer. Jetson agreed to send a replacement and did. A few days later we received a call dryer was still not working.
Called Jetson again they sent a service tech to the house and said mother board blown. Would need to order a new one.
We were thinking now maybe there is something wrong with the house wiring and asked our electrician to replace the outlet and the breaker just to make sure.
A few weeks passed mother board is on back order. We told them we need a dryer in the house so they sent a loaner. The installer admittedly wired the connection wrong and left with it not working.
I spoke to the electrician he suggested we change from the 3 wire to 4 wire plug. In doing the re-wire he found the neutral wire had been hot enough to melt the insulation.
After the rewire and the replacement of the dryer AC cord the loaner dryer was now operational.
We arrived home it is now late July (we left in April) Jetson called and said they finally had the replacement motherboard.
The service tech arrived with the new parts and replaced them re installed the dryer and it has been working to date.
I was talking to the service tech as he was replacing parts and he explained to me that all of the problems were due to the way the installers wired the 3 wire connection on all 3 dryers they had wired L1 and N wires correctly but had wired the L2 connection to G. YES 120 VAC connected to the frame of the dryer!!!
All I can say is it is a good thing LG puts on a good of paint otherwise children pets and everyone else would have been getting shocked as...
Read moreFirstly, I’ve purchased all of my appliances in my kitchen from Jetson’s in Port St. Lucie. My latest purchase was an LG front loader, washer and dryer. I noticed that there was a little water near my machine, so I called for service. My appointment was made quickly and a technician named Jared came to my home. He was very friendly, explained everything that was going on with the machine, and found where the leak came from, explaining it to me . Jared wrote up a work order and told me the part had a hairline crack in it. He efficiently put the machine back together, cleaned up the little water, and told me the part should be coming in soon. I called Jetson up a couple of days later and they stated the part had just come in. I asked the lady on the phone who was also very very sweet, please send Jared again. She made the appointment for a day or so later, Jared came of course with a nice big hello, and proceeded to start working on the machine. As he’s working, he’s explaining it and finished up quickly. He did the test run on the machine to make sure it was not leaking and that everything was OK. Jared even showed me a couple of buttons on the machine that I wasn’t aware about because I’m a person that does read the manual! I was so pleased with Jared and his work ethic that I called Jetsons to speak with Joe Kissler. He was not in when I made the call, but I made sure I left a message about Jared’s performance. To my surprise, Mr. Kissler called me today (that doesn’t happen too often that they call you back) I expressed my pleasure with Jared’s great work, his wonderful demeanor, and that he really knows his craft. Jared gave some credit to Mr. Kissler for his knowledge, as he was his protege when Jared was learning the ropes. He also stated he studied quite a bit about the appliances to better his knowledge. Read more5/14/2018 I recently purchased my 2nd appliance from the Jetson on St Lucie West Blvd. The atmosphere there is so helpful & accommodating.
My 1st purchase went very smoothly. I went to the store armed with a fistful of reviews & an info sheet on the one I finally selected the $1100 Whirlpool model. Since what I see on my computer screen does not always match the actual product, I wanted to see & compare the item for myself, mindful of what the reviews cautioned me about. The unit I thought I wanted turned out to be not at all what I thought it was. James came to my rescue & found a Kitchaid that actually gave me more of what I wanted for only $800. The delivery crew was on time, helpful & accommodating & the set up was seamless. I'm happy with my purchase.
Having had such a pleasant experience the first time, I went back & asked for James to purchase another appliance. Again, I had my reviews in hand & wanted to check out the one I had chosen. As before, James listened carefully to what I was looking for & applied his expertise in finding me the features I wanted in 2 different brands, Samsung & LG. both at an excellent prices. I went home to think about my choice. I called James a few days later to complete the purchase & asked James to hold off on delivery. I kept changing my mind as I continued to research. James remained calm & patient & helpful throughout my indecision, answering all my questions as I vacillated back & forth. As it turned out, I came across an upgraded model that was more expensive, but had special features that appealed to me. I called James to make the switch. Again, he calmly & patiently went through the paces of the change, making the phone calls & rescheduling, & re-doing all the paperwork. He never wavered in being totally helpful, pleasant & eager to please his customer.
