The experience of a professional club fitting through Chris Cody‘s golf shop is absolutely top notch. I am a former high school golf team member, at my peak playing eight rounds of golf per week. Over the last 20 years, I have reduced my engagement with the game of golf to a round or two every couple years for work related responsibilities. He shared some guidance on what the data suggested would fit with my individual swing profile. In the end we put together a set of clubs made by a manufacturer I hadn’t even considered despite doing nearly a year of research on my own.

My club fitting focused on finding a set of irons, and putting together hybrids and a fairway wood. I was so happy with the process I will be returning to do a separate fitting to find the right driver for me. It also feels good to support someone local rather than a national chain. WOW! I have been golfing and going to pro shops for a long time now and this fitting experience was very likely my best experience. I came in a day early for a fitting unannounced due to a work schedule changed. They were so helpful and worked me in to one of their fitting bays. This wasn’t your typical hit into a screen either, it was in a heated studio hitting onto the driving range. It was awesome. My fitter Owen was super nice and helpful. Got me warming up right away with my old driver and getting some data. He then started having me try a few different heads. Once I found the head that worked best he offered to let me try a premium shaft. I never felt that he was trying to push me into a more expensive option. After I decide on the combo I mentioned I was thinking of upgrading irons down the road, he let me try some irons. Even though I wasn’t going to buy irons the fact that he let me hit a few just for fun was super cool. I will absolutely be going back to get irons this fall. Also I want to add that it is 45-60 min from my house and it doesn’t even factor in to my decision to go back because of my experience.
