Terrible experience...I visited the Riverside store in Portland, Maine, last week around 6 PM while en route to my bowling league, where I utilized the self-checkout to purchase approximately $100 in groceries. As I was exiting with my cart, I was unexpectedly confronted by three individuals who accused me of trespassing, leaving me bewildered as I was unaware of any wrongdoing. They insisted that I return to the store, where it was revealed that I had inadvertently failed to scan a beer located at the bottom of my cart. I promptly offered to pay for the item, but they refused and demanded that I sign paperwork acknowledging an act of shoplifting, which I declined, as I had no intention of leaving without paying. This incident left me feeling humiliated, and I seek an apology along with documentation confirming my ability to shop at Hannaford’s in the future. The very rude employees claimed to have surveillance footage, and I pointed out that if they had noticed the unscanned beer, they could have simply alerted me at the self-checkout, especially since I had also purchased wine and an employee had come over to approve that sale. I am deeply distressed by this experience, especially as a loyal customer for over 12 years who has never engaged in theft. I request a resolution to this matter.
At least Jason M. had the decency to respond to me. Perhaps Dave the manager could...
Read moreI’ve been going to this Hannaford for years, my family lives close by. Never have I had an issue with manually entering my card when I forget it or if my children use it for snacks after school until today WITH a manager TIA DICKENS her name suits her well. I have been struggling working for small businesses who haven’t paid me and having it rough this month. I would have thought that Hannaford cares about their local residences and making sure the people in the community have access to food during trying times. I had nothing to my name and just enough for gas to get to work and no idea how to get back having to use my cash. I’m very disappointed in Tia and the team. She should have been a better representation for Hannaford and the importance of making sure that everyone has access to the resources they provide.
Instead in received hate, judgment, and discrimination for how I dress talk and look working in a warehouse and as a small business house keeper.
Tia was comfortable about her day knowing that she could have fed a consumer of 20 years but instead decided not too when there are others in the building who would have and have done so in the past.
Thank you Tia, for being terrible in a world full...
Read moreEver since they remodeled this place it has gone down hill. Every time I go here they get rid of something I buy, every single time. This is the 20th time now. My daughter eats the Organic pop tarts because she can’t have a lot of sugar and now those are gone too. They should of kept the organic section instead of adding it in with the rest of the food. The body wash is with the cleaning supplies, the aisles don’t even make sense anymore. Everything is just thrown in together. I don’t understand why they made the organic section a shampoo aisle. They could of left it how it was. Now they’re slowly getting rid of the organic options one by one. This place is going to be the next Save A Lot but with...
