Hollywood Lights - Portland — Local services in Portland

This place does not cater to POC make up artists. They keep dark foundation colors on the shelf longer than the expiration date, probably cause they don’t have a lot of POC people buying those products. So when I do buy the product they don’t let you test what you are going to buy. Therefore every-time I have gone to buy foundation (krylon) 4 times in the last year it was dried out.

Today when I went to go purchase more make up (I also had the faulty foundation stick to show they how dried out it is) they wouldn’t exchange or give store credit. The woman at the counter although very nice, was brand new and couldn’t help me because they didn’t know how to. And what another seasoned employee came to ring up my order I expressed my frustrations of the products I have previously bought and he said “well looks like you are out of luck” when I asked to speak to a manager he said “I don’t know when she here, it’s random”

This establishment clearly doesn’t care about some of their customers who come back all the time. Selling expired makeup is WRONG!, as the woman at the counter said “they keep products way too long on the shelf”

I’ll continue to tell drag performers/ artist not to support this establishment until they cater to ALL DEMOGRAPHICS!

Lipman’s has way better customer service and doesn’t sell faulty...

I am happy to write this review of Jason at Hollywood Lights. I started my project out with a different rep and during our first several interactions he left the company without warning and I was introduced to Jason. What a treat. He did a site visit and was very thorough and patient as I described the vision for my event. Jason went the extra mile and then some to help create the scene and atmosphere I was hoping for. 100/10, I would work with Jason again. Thank you for seeing my vision and helping bring it to life. Before flying in from Oklahoma, I worked with Gavin in the Rental Department. He was only quick to respond via email but helped me every step of the way. They also have an incredible staff. Shout out to Bico and Anthony who helped us day off event.

I'm giving 5 stars not only for their product but the customer service they provided .

Side Note: While every other company was talking bad about one another Hollywood had only nice things to say. Besides that the difference was they provided a product sheets and price quote AKA facts as to why Hollywood Lighting was the better choice.
