My husband had purchased a used 08 GMC Acadia on 1/24/16 from Tony's Auto World. On 2/15/16 on our way home from a mini vaca the tranny went out when we were a hour away from home with our 2 young daughters in the car. We ended up having to drive 20mph all the way home and then my husband had to drive his truck to get a trailer to tow it up to his work (he's a mechanic) so that he could work on it. Mind you he took off 2 days of work to work on it. After a lot of things going wrong during the process and having to fix other things we ended up not getting the car back on the road until last Friday 2/26/16 and paying out $1,500 for a tranny. So yes I was a carless stay at home mom who takes my oldest to and from school every day with my husband working 45mins away from home. After about 2 weeks of owning the car we noticed water coming in from EVERYWHERE. Floors soaked, roof soaked from front to back. Well yesterday 3/3/16 I had just got back from grocery shopping after dropping my daughter off at school and when I turned the car off and took out the key the car still ran for like 10 seconds then harshly shut off. I started it and shut it off two more times just to make sure that really just happened. And of course it did the same thing. So I called up my hubby and he said it sounded like the ignition went out. Well the time came to head out to pick my daughter up for school and what do you know the car has no power won't turn over do anything. Sending me in a panic knowing I have to pick my daughter up in 20mins. By this time my husband wouldn't make it home in time to pick our daughter up so I had to call the school for her to ride the bus home which she's never done before. When my husband got home last night he noticed there is water all under the dash so now we don't know whether its just the ignition or the computer got wet and that's ruined or a million other things. So now my husband has to go to work get a trailer tow it BACK up to his work so that he can take everything apart and try and find the issues if just replacing the ignition doesn't work. My husband has tried to call Tony's Auto World numerous times and he's just got the run around. They don't care what so ever that this car has put us in danger and been sitting longer then we've drove it due to repairs. Its funny to me that they can't answer or call back and my husband gets hung up on but they can send out our tags which we were also promised a nav disk for our car which we never received. My husband has had to take off work, spend the last night of our vacation running around getting a trailer to tow the car which in total took him 3 hrs, for 3 days he would take our daughter to school drove 45mins to work come back pick her up when she got out of school drop her off at home then go back to work and spend his night working on our car. We live 3hrs away from anyone we know to help care for our children with no extra vehicle. We drove a hour and a half to get this car to begin with and traded in our other vehicle. We've had money put away to make a big move this summer to be closer to family and have had to use that money to make repairs on this vehicle. This place is a total scam. We are making a corporate complaint on this business and have contacted a lawyer who's adviced us on the necessary steps to take to sue this so called "business". Don't be surprised when your place gets raided and they go through your paper work to find out this business is a total SCAM. BTW. Its a $20,000 fine for every mistake they find at your "business". You've made our life hell the last few weeks. All I have is one last thing to...
Read moreTony's had a great price on a Prius. I drove an hour to get there only to find that as soon as I turned the car on, the power steering light and battery warning light came on. Prius are known to sometimes have battery problems, most of them quite expensive to fix. I wanted the car checked out by a mechanic and as I drove to the mechanic's shop, I noticed the brakes were extremely sensitive. When I barely touched the brake pedal, the car braked hard. The alignment was way off, too. It turns out only the dealership could tell me why the battery warning light was on. It would have cost me $105 just to find out why. Then a pre-purchase inspection would have been another $100 to inspect the car mechanically. I was unwilling to put that much money into a car I wasn't sure I wanted anyway. I drove the car back to Tony's. When I opened the back trunk to see what kind of trunk space the car had, I noticed that the battery cover had been taken off. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that someone at Tony's disconnected the battery hoping that by resetting the battery, the warning light would stay off long enough for me to pay $7000 for the car and then be stuck with the repairs. So I was really unimpressed with the place. I had hoped previous reviewers were wrong. But I would say, be very very careful about buying a car here. Pay $100 to a AAA shop to have them inspect your vehicle before you buy it. I am glad I didn't spend any money on the car, but am irritated I lost 4 hours of my day to a trip to Portland for a car that obviously had some major issues. If you are thinking of making a trip here, call and ask them to turn on the key and tell you what warning lights come on. I also wished I had asked if it was a smoker's car. Because this one was and I would not have made the trip if I...
Read moreI'm not happy with the business that Tony's Auto World conducted. I visited them on 05/26/16. I worked with Mike and we took a few Acura's for test drives. One of them we heard some jiggling in the back and Mike said something was rolling around in the back, I ended up financing this vehicle only to find out that nothing was rolling around in the back, the back door was loose! I'm finding all of these problems with the vehicle barely 3 weeks later including a corroded battery (which they said they replaced and that's why the navigation system was locked up, but who replaces the battery with a corroded one?), struts are going out, and power steering is messed up! At the dealership, the navigation system was locked up and Mike stated that once the Navigation system was unlocked, I would have access to the back up camera. Well, I get the navigation system unlocked and the back up camera is just a black screen. So I go back to the dealership to discuss the issue with the camera and Mike was not friendly about the situation and he told me to call when the owner was there. He gave me the hours to call and so I called multiple times between those hours for them to IGNORE MY CALLS. BAD BUSINESS, THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE AND THEN WHEN YOU REALIZE THE TRUTH THEY WON'T HELP YOU. As I was walking out of the dealership with the keys on that first day the owner Tony and Mike BOTH said if anything went wrong to bring it back to them and they would help us out. Well clearly that was a bunch of bull because I have been trying to get help from them to no avail. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME...
