The wait to be seated was abominable. It took about 30 minutes with nobody ahead of us, partially due to social distancing, but also due to lethargic serving staff. Once we were inside, things took a turn for the better.

My wife ordered a glass of cloudy sake, the name of which I cannot remember, but was smooth and strong without being overpowering. We also split a Sake To Me (tastes like a habanero sake margarita), and the Geisha Tea Party (lemon + green tea + sake = amazing!).

Some chicken karaage and California rolls for the kids kept them quiet and complacent, while my wife and I started with tsukemono and miso soup (as is tradition) and the Jalapeno Ninjas (which is not...but should be!). We followed up with the Mexican rolls (seriously, who ever thought of putting cilantro and pickled jalapeno on sushi is a genius!), a spicy tuna hand roll, and unagi with cream cheese.

All the flavors were sharp, crisp and umami. Absolutely wonderful and crafted by a master. My only complaint is that you're going to be waiting a while to be served by that master! By the time we we're seated, we were virtually the only people in the restaurant, and it still took another hour and change for us to complete our meal, and most of that was wait time. Whether or not that was a fluke remains to be seen on our next visit, because I have to have those Mexican...

The service here is dwindling, and that is a shame. We usually order take out, but while dining in the recently we were quite disappointed with everything except for the taste of the food.

Our drinks frequently ran dry, we weren't checked on, and we were brought the check without even asking if we wanted to order more. While we continued our meal after paying our waters weren't filled and the servers loudly moved tables and swept around us (even though there were other tables in the dining room and the restaurant didn't close for another 1.5 hours).

I also want to note that they mark certain items as being able to be made gluten free, but that is false. While the ponzu sauce has gluten and can be left off, these items also contain fried fish that are fried in a shared frier. I brought this up to our server and she didn't seemed phased. I'll be sure to add this to the review on the "Find Me Gluten Free" app to alert my fellow celiacs of this false advertisement to save them a trip to the hospital.

Quite disappointed, Miyamoto. We'll be taking our...

I don't know what happened to this place because it used to be spectacular, but my friend and I had the most bizarre service experience last night. Our server came around and took our order quickly, but was unfriendly and made no effort to assist us with any recommendations. The place was not busy, and after our food was delivered she did not stop by again once to check in on us. My friend wanted to order another drink and we couldn't flag anyone down or even make eye contact with those serving. I finally had to stand up and stop one of the servers to get her drink ordered. When she brought it by she nearly slammed it down on the table. We then sat for another thirty minutes after finishing our food, none of our plates had been cleared away before we finally flagged her down for the bill. We don't go out very often, and were really disappointed at the rudeness. The sushi was good, but I remember it being better. Maybe it was just the surly staff that...

ALMOST AMAZING If this place had better cocktails and homemade appetizers, they would be 5 stars. The service is top notch, prices are fair, and I love their specialty rolls. Make sure to scan their QR code at the table for access to Roscoe’s tap list. Unfortunately, they don’t have the clever cocktail list I’ve become accustomed to in Portland and I didn’t think much of the one I ordered. Don’t bother ordering the gyoza or takoyaki, as you can buy them at H-Mart and save your money for the sushi. The karaage and the monkey brains are the only items on the appetizer list I would recommend. We also got the Hokkaido scallops sashimi as an appetizer and it was super lackluster. Worst I’ve ever had. We LOVED the salmon belly and really liked the Wassup roll. Spider roll was okay and the California roll was disappointing since it had krab in it, but price seemed to be for crab.

This place has a bright, energetic atmosphere and friendly waitstaff, and the food is gorgeous. The specialty rolls are unique, generous, fish-forward and well-balanced. No rice-heavy sushi here! The traditional hamachi roll was packed with fish and tasted very fresh. The seaweed salad was just right; not overly sweet, and the pickled vegetable plate is a great choice for anyone into pickled foods, offering a beautiful variety of flavors, colors, and textures. The presentation of every single dish was exquisite. The waitstaff was unhurried with a good-natured Portland vibe, and they accommodated our large group easily despite being quite busy. The price was also quite reasonable, given the quality and size of each roll

This is my favorite sushi joint. I am mostly a roll fan and this place has some of the best. Very creative with incredible flavor for reasonable prices. Menu has a good variety for the hardcore to the exclusively gyoza eaters alike. Try the mexi roll, blackjack, and the surf and turf if they have it. Happy hour has a good menu, get the assorted veggie. Nice sake and beer selection (the have Rosco's tap menu). Staff has been friendly and accommodating even when busy, and be prepared, they can get busy. Nice decor but it can get cramped. Not the best for bigger groups but they will take a reservation for more than six in a party which is nice. Parking is on Street and may require a walk.
