Washington County Memorial Hospital — Local services in Potosi

I have never had an issue before until tonight. Took my son in to see if he had strep. We weren't even put in a room until after almost 2 hrs waiting in the lobby. They did the swab in the lobby (which seems unsanitary). Heard nothing back for another hr and a half so my wife called just to see if there was any information on what's going on and the girl who answered the phone (Abbie) was extremely rude. Her response was that they had a lot of critical cases. My wife said "I understand, I was just curious what was taking so long" to which Abbie said "well it's an ER sooo...". My wife then said ok and thank you to which the girl on the phone said "yep" and hung up. I've had many good experiences there but after her attitude tonight towards my wife, I will drive to Farmington unless it's absolutely necessary. A person's attitude and care towards a patient (even on the phone)...

So my sister tried to commit suicide last night in my home took a knife and drove it straight into her arm,took five of us to restrain her until help arrived once at hospital the doctor that was on the floor had no clue what he was doing and released her after 30 minutes of being there now my sister is no where to be found, and knowing that one of our officers came into my home and seen bloody knife and she openly admitted doing this to herself the officer never showed up at hospital to be a witness of this.its terrifying knowing something this serious took place and abusuloty nothing was done and my sister is sick beyond battling drug addictions and the hospital let her go as if it was no big deal at all, so a big thanks to potosi hospital that I and my family are now concerned and very worried that she may be in danger and the law nor hospital hasn't done nothing...

Very disappointed in the treatment my fiance received this evening by Dr. Olumide Adewumi. Sad when the patient seemed to be treated as a drug seeker. He just wanted to know what was causing the pain... had I known this is how he would be treated, we would have went elsewhere.

The nurses were fantastic and very kind. Sad that the doctors can't be as compassionate.

There's also no air conditioning in the ER rooms. The thermostat in the room was reading 76° when we left.

Edit - went to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre and was treated with respect and not treated like a drug seeker.

Edit - He has 6 herniated disc that was ignored because the first doctor thought he was just a pill seeker instead of...
