Very unsatisfied with this business! To start, two deals at the same time, one personal, one business. Had a personal financial problem come up a week after I made my deal. I was not able to do my barn, but my father was able to do his for his business. I was asked to pull my weight with the city and get a letter saying I could not do my barn for them to get their money back from the barn building company they use. I waited more than a month to even get an answer back if I would get my deposit back. I also tried to see if they would put my deposit towards a shed that they sold so they did not totally loose a sale and still could make some money. After dozens of calls with no answer (their main business line, and cell phones, and text messages) I finally am told two weeks to process a check. I text after the mail come on the two week day, and I get told the check was wrote that day and Iâll have in a few days. I did. After that nightmare, my dad in this whole time (2 months) did not receive his call from the company âwelcoming him to the company and doing their thingâ as we where told we would receive in 7-10 business days. Instead after a month he gets a call asking if he was ready for his building. No plans for permits or nothing where given. They said they would be emailed the following Monday. Another month goes by, same phone call, âare you ready for your buildingâ still, no plans or anything. This business âJust Wood and Steelâ is not professional whatsoever, hardly answers calls, and everything the guy said in my dining room was not the way it was said to be. Not even close. We are very disappointed in Brian. He made it seem as this was all legit and very easy. Iâm sure it may be for some. Not for us. I feel lucky to have received my money back, hopefully my father gets his worked out or his money back. The business that they deal with for these buildings does not do what they are said to do. Whoeverâs problem other than my time and stress is to determined. Not a bash review, just very unhappy with results. I would not do business with them again. P.S. I did purchase a shed from a local guy for 8k Could have...
Read moreThis company has been the absolute WORST to work with. Also, the shelter we received is flimsy and not built to last. I would never recommend them to anyone. As soon as they have your money, they donât care at all about the product you received. We had a horse shelter custom built and it was delivered in January. They actually built the shelter wrong so they agreed to send a crew out to fix it for us. When it was delivered, it was left on the skids with the frame held together by cross boards so not in usable condition for horses. We had to call the crew repeatedly for weeks to get them to come out and fix it. Three times they set a date to come out and three times they never showed up and never called to let us know. When they finally came and fixed the shelter too how we ordered it, they never removed the skids and securing boards along the bottom because âthey donât do thatâ. Itâs now March and we still canât use the shelter because itâs still not done. The base of the shelter is not sturdy and not a good shelter for animals. They didnât even build the frame with full length boards and they are not 4 inch thick as you would expect, but 2. We asked to have the item returned (itâs literally even still ready to load up and take away) and they will not work with us to remove it. Itâs dangerous to have it in our pasture with our horses the way it is. Do not buy any animal shelter from this company. For the price you pay, youâll end up with a poorly built product. We could not be more disappointed with this company and the shelter we received and canât...
Read moreI engaged Brian at Just Wood and Steel in December to get my 20x24 shop built on my property to house my motorcycles. I had done quite bit of research on the web about getting this done, and realized just how many pitfalls and expenses can occur getting this taken care of, and how making a bad decision can lead to a TON of extra expenses.
I called Brian through a referral from a friend of mine, and he made the trip 60 miles away from his office within a couple of days for a pre-arranged meeting. He laid out all the details, told me what addtions made sense and which were extras or could possibly done by a subcontractor for a reduced rate. We agreed upon a price and I left a deposit, hoping to get a slab poured before the ground froze and winter hit us with full force.
As an aside, brian got all the Permits and Paperwork info ready. All I had to do was turn it in to the local office and pay the fee. Super easy.
Well, getting the permits took a little longer through absolutely no fault of the company but just getting our local inspector's hours coordinated with my own, and winter hit us with full force. Brian remained cool and we put off the process for a few weeks until we could get the slab poured on the second week of March.
I'm now looking out my window at my awesome barn, and seriously couldn't be happier. It is exactly what I wanted, and today I plan to sweep it out, level the ground around it from the displaced dirt from the slab, and plan the electrical.
Brian is a stellar guy to work with, and I highly...
