There was a female customs officer who had a terrible demeanor and told me, “I seem to think I know it all.” This felt like projection at its finest and constitutes as unprofessional conduct and abuse of authority. Some officers, including this one, could benefit from improved professionalism, emotional control, and anger management training. Travelers who declare items and check the official site should not be treated with hostility or disrespect. Authority should come with professionalism, not scolding or dismissive attitudes. Rolling eyes and projecting negativity onto others is unprofessional and reflects poorly on the agency. The same officer was also extremely disrespectful to my wife, who simply wanted to know what was going on. She dismissed her, turned her back, and said it was not any of her business.

Thank you, however, to the male officer who was respectful and considerate. He controlled his demeanor, held a respectful conversation, and educated me rather than scolding me. That is the level of professionalism that should be the standard. Threats of arrest and hostile tones only create unnecessary fear. I was not disrespectful — I explained my situation — yet my explanation was treated as “hostile.”

The female officer’s hostile remarks, eye-rolling, threats of arrest, and escalation tactics demonstrated a lack of emotional control and professionalism that raises serious concerns about her fitness to serve in a public-facing role.

This behavior — hostility, unnecessary escalation, and verbal intimidation — shows why CBP should ensure all officers are regularly evaluated for professional conduct and emotional readiness. Improved oversight and ongoing training would help ensure authority is exercised fairly, consistently, and with respect for the public.

I use this crossing quite often. The CDC officers have changed to new one's and I have had really bad experienced with their comments and asking questions that's non of their business.
