Southern Roots Salon — Local services in Pryor Creek

I don't like writing negative reviews but as this case was so egregious I felt others should know.

I had a very bad experience with Erin at this salon. I asked her not to change the color of my hair but only touch up the roots. So I thought it was strange when she started applying a blue paste all over my hair, not just the roots. I asked her what it was and she claimed it was just something to make my hair "shinier", but I found out later blue paste is actually bleach!

Now that's a pretty hard thing to imagine would be a total accident but I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

She left it on for about 40 minutes, washed it, dried it, and then exclaimed, "Are you ready for the big reveal?". She spun my chair around to watch my reaction in the mirror. My hair was totally platinum blonde. I wondered why she made such a big show of this, especially since she had to know it was not at ALL what I asked for.

Although she did not offer, I asked her to fix it and she then applied a toner that made it look darker but still not nearly as good as the original color I asked her not to change.

I was only able to get her to tell me the exact color she had been using in a previous visit by trying to be nice about the whole thing (she had a quick temper), so I could go to the store, buy it, and restore the previous color myself. The salon itself is clean, cozy and cute. Sam has cut my hair twice. She listens and does what I ask. She's also kind and personable.
