What's a great bargain especially for families the only downfall for me is that it is in Pueblo on the very south side of Pueblo and I don't live in Pueblo and I find the weather significantly different than the Springs because it's so humid sometimes it's too hot and sticky to be in your car & you listen to the movie through the car stereo unless you bring 1 with batteries so all movie long people are starting their cars so that they don't need a jump start at the end of the night. If it wouldn't be a big tax on the environment and a lot of gas I would honestly keep my car running so I can have the air conditioning to be comfortable during Movie 1 but it's awesome that there are three screens and many people watch one movie at one screen and then switch to another screen to watch a second movie later. One thing I do find highly annoying is that since you listen to the movie through your radio they don't have the polls where the little speaker box used to hang at the drive-thru in Colorado Springs anyway is so rather than having you line up with the central post or some kind of marking and they have you start your car and scoot over and start your car and scoot over frequently multiple times and it never fails it is always right after you get the kids comfortable and started eating dinner while you wait for it to become dusk for the movie to start but since bringing in food isn't frowned upon I like to pair up nachos restaurant also on the south end of Pueblo and basically killed two birds with one stone since I will drive specifically to Pueblo just to go to nachos for dinner or lunch.
I also feel unlike indoor movie theaters they have very reasonable & many choices-full meals down to the norm.
It is one of the few places left to show your kids or grandkids whatever the case may be something you may have done with your parents or with your friends growing up and I think it is a very nice experience to share - 1 thing I found very annoying was with my crossover vehicle (apparently they have stopped making it so that you can turn off the light if a door is left open) so when I leave the back hatch open at the drive-in I have 2 choices I can remove the bulbs right away or I have to cover it with something very dark so the 1st trip with this car it frustrated a number of people even though it wasn't even previews, so I would get that figured before going. I ended up going back to the dealership after the drive-in and they said that they don't put that in most cars anymore because it's similar to the ashtray in that the many people don't need that feature so they just don't let you turn off the lights. I like to bring a battery operated radio when I am so far from home - 2 movies is a long time! I just don't want that hassle of starting my car like many people do throughout! I find a dial radio rather than a digital display so you can enter the exact # 95.8 FM for example for the screen that you're at for the audio are difficult to find without that digital option.
I do recommend and getting there early because the line will be long, you can always bring a cooler with drinks and everything like that go to old days but with the temperature until it's been a couple of hours past dark many people also bring lawn chairs so my last recommendation is some sort of insect repellent whether it be those citronella candles or anything along those lines because they are big bugs that are highly annoying not only while you're watching the movie but also in the car on the way home when they're active because there's all the street lights and what not!
It is definitely a great nostalgic experience even...
Read moreIt's the only drive in this town has so at least that's something... The prices are OUTRAGEOUS !! Just the entrance fees could pay part of your grocery bill if you have a large family @10.00 each for adults and ages 16 & up...Then there are the ENORMOUS food prices !!! $8.00 for a dried up over cooked Burger ?? And I could make a TRUCK LOAD of popcorn for what 4 large popcons cost !! And the beverages are the same way !!! Just pull up the menu and you will see what I am ranting about ! Then let's talk about the condition of the parking area and the CHUNKY Dribe way and the overgrown treelimbs you must Dodge on the way out of bull shute # 2. !!! Not to mention the PONDS you must naigate thru and around if there has been any decent rain both to reach the snack bar and the questionable restrooms drainage ditches would help keep the mosquito jungle at Bay as well as be appreciated by older adults and people with small children !!! And by questionable restrooms.... Stinks badly, nasty, some stalls are not checked for toliet paper or cleanliness or proper operation of toliets, the paper towels are not kept stocked by the sink nor does the soap dispenser always work even when there is soap. I have witnessed ppl doing drug deals by and inside of restrooms, guys hanging out by the ladies looking anything but safe, and on the stright and narrow. Here is a FEW suggestions that I am sure will NOT be given any thought to in addition to ALL the other improvements I have already mentioned we're needed. A) stay open year round... If the schools can operate so can you. That's what the heater in your vehicle is for as well as taking blankets... B) This will allow you to actually make MORE profit ( even after the repairs) C) hire wandering security ( that actually works and moves around throughout the shows) D) CLEAN IT UP !! Curb appeal matters !!! E) LOWER the dang prices ( by staying open longer during the year you WONT lose $$ but will actually make MORE $$ F) HIRE more people to work the snack bar !! G) maybe EVERY OTHER weekend have a TRIPLE feature on Friday and Saturday night and of course THEN it would be THE TIME FOR HIGHER ENTRANCE FEES . This drive in HAS SOOOOOO MUCH untapped potential and has slipped badly on the good customer service rules. I would hate to see it become another dinosaur of days gone by just because no one wants to take care of these issues. I may be brutal, but it's because I TRUELY DO CARE and my FAMILY loves an outting to the drive in. I come from the South East and there are drive ins that follow these guidelines and do VERY WELL...
Read moreVery deliberately told the worker both movies I planned on watching when we pulled up and paid. She directed me to the correct screen. Watched the first movie without a hitch. About 5 minutes into the second movie, I realized that it wasn't the movie I planned to see. So we just moved to the correct screen for the movie I TOLD THE WORKER I wanted to watch in the first place. About 15 minutes into the movie, the woman I originally bought my ticket from came up to the car and told me I either had to leave or pay full price again. I explained that I had originally told them I planned on watching the movie, Deadpool 2, when I first arrived. She responded with something along the lines of, "I know. I was the one that sold you your ticket. But you have to pay for watching the second movie on a separate screen than the first one one you were parked at." Angry at this point, my family and I pack up our things without arguing and I ask if there is a manager somewhere that I can talk to. She refused to give me her name and pointed me in the direction of her manager. So I again explain the situation to the manager on duty, that I very deliberately told the staff member which two movies I planned on watching when I bought my ticket, and was not told at the time that I needed to buy a second ticket for a separate screen when the first movie ended. He basically told me that the staff must not have heard me say the name of the second movie, despite me saying the names of both movies VERY CLEARLY, and told me there was nothing he could do about it. I'm upset because I handled the situation very maturely, I did not cause a scene like I have seen countless others do, and I was brushed off like I wasn't a paying customer. I mean, I could have gone to Tinseltown and paid $9.25 for one movie. Instead, I went to the drive-in and paid $9.50 thinking I was gonna be watching 2 movies, and was basically kicked out after the first. I am very disappointed, and sadly don't know if I...
