The WSU bear experience was one of the most memorable experiences my family has had visiting the Pullman, Washington area. Note that Pullman is very close to the border of Idaho.
Around 9 to 10 grizzly bears make this center home and if visiting near 3:15 pm, you can see them in action being fed. While it might seem they are lonely as they tend to circulate in their enclosure, they are actually simply in anticipation for feeding time where they get to roam a giant fenced field and play with creative toys the keepers have made while eating an assortment of donated jams, apples, and corn! Keep peace of mind knowing that these bears are incapable of living in the wild and are living the life here while also being observed for science.
