I just had the worst experience I could ever imagine with Patty's bridal shop in cold water!!! I am not one to normally out a person or business but I hope to share this so brides and future brides don't have to experience the same s* I just did. I choose Patty's because my mom, friends and other family have made purchases and done alterations through them and haven't had any big problems. So back in August me and all my bridesmaids, my future mother in law, my little cousin, my grandma and my mom all went to pick out bridesmaid dresses and get sized. We found a dress and everyone was sized. Beginning to mid October I called to make an appointment for my wedding dress alterations, which I did not get from their store, and for two bridesmaids to come in and get resized so we would only need to make one trip out there. I made it for a Saturday during my winter break so no one would have to take work off. When we arrived for my appointment in December I came in with an "enemy" dress bag which I received dirty looks from and I was told they didn't have me written down for an appointment. Patty told me that they don't typically do outside alterations especially not on a Saturday and did not seem to even care about my business! She ended up saying they weren't busy so she could fit me in. I turn to my two bridesmaids/cousins and say, "I made this appointment two months ago." Patty heard me and then became interested in my being there. After a good half hour to hour we find out that they have absolutely NO record of me or my bridesmaids ever stepping foot in their store!! All of the girls' sizes, dress style, color, etc was gone. How can a store lose 7 girls' measurements!! Not only did they lose this information, I never received an apology and accommodations were not being made to correct or make THEIR mistake better. Long story short after the holidays I received two calls from Patty's asking what my plan with the bridesmaids dresses was. I also found that the designer of the dress had a store in Grand Rapids which I called and had a GREAT experience with the store manager. I returned Patty's call and informed her that I would not be ordering dresses through her not only because they lost my information but because there was no apology, the staff was rude, and accommodations were not being made to fix the error. She then got a tude with me and said that she would have to talk to her seam stress about doing my alterations to my wedding dress. I said, so because I decided not to order bridesmaids dresses through your store due to YOUR error you won't alter my wedding dress? She replied with "well I'm not sure they have time, depends on how busy we are with our other customers." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!! This was my breaking point, I said that's fine I'll take my business elsewhere where it's wanted. Thankfully my mom was able to pick up my dress that very night and the store manager of Alfred Angelo, Bonnie, had given me numbers for places that could alter my dress that the store uses. I was able to make an appointment with nimble and needles, Barb, and she was the most wonderful woman! Very sweet, accommodating, informative and genuine. Clearly Patty needs a lesson in customer service because I will NEVER again return to that store simply because of how rude, careless and unorganized her and her store is! You're in the wedding business working with stressed out brides, don't make it a bad experience for them and get your...
Read moreMy experience was significantly less than desirable. I went alone as the pressure from not finding a dress yet after trying 4 other bridal shops was disappointing, so I did not want another disappointing trip involving many others hoping I'd find THE dress. I was shown my dressing room, explained the layout of the store then told to pick what I liked and lay it on a chair. As I did so, my consultant lightly checked in with me. I was the only person shopping. I went to get my consultant after I picked 4 dresses and one she found. I told her I was ready and she responded asking if I would need help trying on. I told her yes I would need help i wouldn't be able to zip or do up any of the backs. She told me go ahead and when I was ready to open my door and yell for her help. This was NOT the experience I was anticipating nor had at any other bridal shop. I went into my room alone...unbagged the dresses...figured out how to get into them and opened the door wearing my first gown...completely open to the world in the back i stepped out to find my consultant. She zipped and said nothing. I stood there quiet and said, " ok then...I guess this isn't the one..." I scuffled back to my room feeling like since she was only there to zip me up and I had to FIND her for that. I was better off alone. Then, I wripped my underwear on a staple that was sticking out on the inside of a dress holding nothing together. Trying to stay positive, I continued to try on my dresses as my consultant checked on me periodically and tried to bring me a dress that was all of what I told her I did not like. The experience just failed. It was clear that I would not buy my wedding gown...even if I did like any....in a self service bridal shop. They were adamant about me arriving at a specific scheduled time...for what? I am not sure. My consultant was nice...she was never rude to me...maybe this is just how things are done at this particular bridal store. Especially being alone on this visit, I was taken off guard and put into tears to be put into a room alone without help to figure out wedding dresses. Upon my exit, I was hugged and given a business card and told she would call me if they had more arrivals. I spent just over a half hour in this store. Very...
Read moreIn the past we have been very pleased with the way we were treated I personally have bought three dresses there and I have referred friends and family. They were wonderful working with one of my daughters picking out her wedding dress. I never made an appointment honestly didn’t know it was a thing every time we stopped in there was no issues at all. I took my youngest daughter in to look at wedding dresses and I couldn’t believe how rude the manager was the young girl we were talking to was very nice but the manager chewed out the young girl for being too nice to us that we need to leave and come back another day with an appointment we overheard how nasty she was acting. We did not know we needed to make an appointment because we never needed one before which was fine but there is a professional way that you handle people that you don’t need to be rude to my daughter that was excited about looking at dresses with her mom when we left she just wanted to go home. Luckily we went to another place in downtown Jackson and she found a wedding dress that she absolutely loves the owner and woman working there were amazing with my daughter and it ended up a wonderful experience for us. I should’ve have had to apologize to my daughter about the way we were treated it was very rude and uncalled for. I will never shop there again. A very disappointing experience on a special day for...
