Out having a relaxing day yesterday, to decompress, get some air, enjoy the sun and explore our new area (having just moved to Central Washington recently). My fiancé and I love gems and stones and enjoy unique items. I've read the reviews about how helpful the workers were and some cool things in the shop, so was really excited to go in and take a look. We walked around the parking lot looking at all the petrified wood, took pictures with the dinosaurs, having a great time.
Started walking towards the door to go into the shop. I said good morning to the older gentleman that came out the door, no reply, I thought well, maybe he didn't hear me. My fiancé said good morning, he got an immediate reply. Didn't think anything of it, because I'm not a sensitive person.
Got inside and was having fun looking around the store. My fiancé told me we were being followed. I didn't quite notice because we were looking at how old some of these fossils were in the store.
I brought some items up to the counter to hold because, being stone items, they were getting heavy. No smile, just a quick yea, when I asked if I could set the items down while we continue to look around the store. Whatever.
We go over to the bin of petrified stone (all piled up in a bin) and begin looking. They had a deal of buy 3. So we were looking for our 3. Stones get pretty loud in a bin inside a quiet store, we were picking up the stones and setting them back down to look through them. Out of nowhere from behind the counter, the elder gentleman from the front door, yelled out at us and said, "STOP THROWING THOSE ROCKS AROUND YOU'LL BREAK THEM".
This is the #1 reason for my rating, DO NOT YELL AT CUSTOMERS from behind the counter. Totally unprofessional, uncalled for and embarrassing. How can an establishment treat their customers that way. Regardless if they felt like we were mishandling the products. *Walk up to us, we don't bite, talk to us with respect. *Ask us to be more gentle, we were not intending to damage the items. We are adults, not kids. We didn't think they were so fragile, with it being petrified for millions of years and have survived the elements. They were in a wooden bin. If they were so fragile, keep them displayed as if they are fragile. Wooden bin, people will pick through and move things around.
They responded to my fiancés post with, "They wouldn't want to do business with us anyways". It may not be a policy to say hi to all your customers or have to be nice or respectful to your customers. But I wonder who you do say hi to or treat with respect. What color are their skin? Just curious.
Very disappointed, I assume that anyone owning/managing/working in retail would remember that everyone is someone's loved one and should be treated with respect. Maybe this world would be a different place if people were treated based on them and not...

This is not your average crystal, gem, mysticism shop. I would say Bill is a historian, expert, and possibly an archaeologist in another life. He's very polite, gregarious and encourages shoppers to take a look around, explore and even chat with him to learn more about what they could potentially be purchasing.
This makes the experience so much more personalized and engaging in my opinion, and while I didn't need any guidance with regards to what I was selecting since I was going for some affordable jewelry, My husband really likes collecting really unique rocks, crystals and fossils. So I eaves dropped on the free consultation that bill provided for over 20 minutes.
Fun fact, some gemstones are fluorescent and may appear one color to the naked eye and be a completely different color under black light.
Anyway, if you're interested in fossils, gemstones, crystals, butterflies, indigenous artifacts and history lessons, please check out this...

It offers an array of fascinating items, and you can discover incredibly impressive pieces of petrified wood scattered around the area. The dinosaur sculptures outside are a source of joy for the kids and perfect for those seeking a fun photo opportunity with these massive pieces of petrified wood.
Once you step inside, you'll be amazed by the abundance of captivating finds for both children and adults alike, such as fossils, shells, rocks, butterflies, arrowheads, and much more.
The owners' passion for their work is evident, and it's clear that they have been doing this for a long time.
When you're done exploring the shop, take a scenic drive down the road to enjoy a picnic lunch at the Ginko Petrified Forest State Park, where you'll find a museum and...
