Updated: Parking is terrible. Hard to have anybody over to host things. Also you cannot have more than 2 visitors with you in the amenities area at a time which is pretty strict especially if your family comes to visit. Packages are stolen and left all over the lobby even though there’s an Amazon hub. When I informed management of 2 lost packages I was told that “they are not lost but usually found in the other building” it was not. My packages were just gone. No further action was taken. No apologies issued. The gym size, similar to parking, does not match the amount of occupants. I am unhappy with many of the interactions I’ve had with management. I’ve walked away from a couple of conversations about issues that have come up feeling like my concerns were unaddressed with no sympathy. I know that rent in the Boston area is at an all time high, but i cannot justify the price to live here any longer. For my last lease renewal, my rent was raised. As a valued resident i asked if there were any incentives for renewal, after meeting with 2 managers i was told there would be absolutely nothing not even something as small as a month free of the garage parking although they have run specials in the past for a month free of garage parking for new residents. On the plus side dogs here may be treated better than tenets. All events scheduled at times when people work. I want to like this place and I did at some point but the cons are outweighing the pros for me personally. I think other than parking I think most of my issues with this complex are things that could be easily remedied with some effort. I believe the interactions I have had as stated above have left a very sour taste for me because I believe in good customer service. Pros are the views, especially roof top. Absolutely beautiful. The courtyard is a nice place to relax in the summer in the evening because during hot summer days there is no shade or protection for the most of the area. There’s always snacks in the leasing office which is nice! The units are actually very nice and updated. For the most part property is pretty well maintained. Maintenance is responsive any issue I’ve had has been fixed in a more than reasonable amount of time. I will not be resigning my lease for the reasons listed above. But if you pay the extra money for garage parking and have a top floor unit you may very well enjoy...
Read moreDO NOT MOVE HERE. #1: The parking situation is a joke. There is a waitlist for garage parking (if you are not in the garage good luck finding parking after a long day at work). When you do get a garage spot, they allow tenants who are not on the lease to take up spots (I will touch on that in a bit). #2: The police are there often. There was an attempted break in with weapons involved last week and can name a few other times while I was a tenant. One time there were undercover cops parked for days all over the community. #3: One of the extremely loud people living above us was not even on the lease (but lived there and parked there full time for the two years we were there) according to an old property manager there when we complained. The neighbor physically and verbally threatened us when we complained about the noise - and HE HAS A GARAGE SPOT. When actual tenants are on a waiting list. Also, we did some research and that neighbor would have never passed a tenant screening. The Q said there is nothing they can do about a tenant not on the lease living and parking there. After multiple photos, videos, and extensive complaints from us. Our new (wonderful) leasing office (and state law), says that is completely false. #4: Because of #3, they let us out of our lease early. No penalty. Such a joke. Also, our apartment was online for rent (at hundreds more) days after we confirmed we would be breaking our lease. #5: My fiance and I moved nearby and could not be happier. The Q is like an overpriced college dorm. Do not move here. Not only is it an unsafe community (read the latest incident from Quincy PD) the leasing office only cares about money. The place isn't even very nice. Built fast, you know the deal. **Response to management's comment: I am not sure why I would "contact the leasing office to discuss my concerns in-person." I did voice my concerns to you, over and over, while I was a resident. Why would I come discuss them again now that I have moved? So you can try to get me to take this review down? No. Potential tenants should know the truth about what the Q is like - terrible, unsafe, and...
Read moreI’ve wanted to give this place 5 stars. Everything about it makes it such an incredible place to be for young professionals - amenities are perfect for hosting, roof deck is amazing, rooms are brand new and gorgeous, and it’s honestly really reasonably priced given what you get.
All of those nice things above fall right by the wayside because of parking. I’m sure you’ve read other people’s complaints. It is, by far, the most horrendous and pitiful thing I think I’ve ever seen. The second building doesn’t even have enough spots if there was only allowed one car per unit. Coming home early from work even at 4, there’s usually only one spot left because people all are remote.
When your own residents have to park up the hill in the entrance circle and down the road to Granite Links, you know there’s an issue. The fact that management hasn’t done ANYTHING to address the issue is beyond me as well.
Towing company getting rid of visitor cars too isn’t helping, there’s simply not enough space and the only solution is for them to come back to reality and expand parking lots. I also second an earlier comment made - I cannot imagine what parking will be like when it snows. As we were told, there’s no guarantee we can park on the public road entrance to The Q when there’s plows. Guess we’ll see - hope management speaks on behalf of all residents and fights to somehow get more parking.
EDIT TO RESPONSE - parking in the building one garage is not helpful at all to anyone living in building 2. That solution actually makes 0 sense. Been here since the fall and now that every unit is full, no parking whatsoever.
UPDATE - all comments pointing to the fact that earlier towing hours are helping alleviate congestion is false. Building 2 still have absolutely no parking past 5 because it’s all resident stickers and just not enough spots!
UPDATE 9/22 - 10pm on a weeknight and we parked about 1/4 mile down the road from the complex because there’s no parking. Office believes getting rid of guest parking will solve the issue - not even close.
I will gladly change this to a 5 star review when parking...
