Rural King — Local services in Radcliff

This is a great place to pick up items that you really need or a nice place to just walk around and check out all of the different items they have inside! Plus, they have free popcorn! They have chickens, ducks and rabbits that you can purchase or just let your children love on them. 6/14/2022, we went in the store again today and I saw that they have a lot of clearance items. 8/4/2022, We bought a lawnmower, push, a while back and we had to take it back for repairs. We had to do the same thing with our weed eater. The repair shop here is pretty good about fixing items in a timely manner. 11/17/22- they really had a lot of nice things on sale, from the Black Friday sale. We were, actually, there to look at pistols and ammunition. They have a fairly good selection of metal targets and other various types of targets. 2/26/23, We went in here today to pick up a box of screws and we ended up buying 2 pairs of khaki work pants, also. They usually have some pretty good deals on jeans, cargo pants and khaki pants also. 7/31/23, we went in to get our son a pair of work boots today and they have a really nice selection of different kinds of boots. 10/8/23, we went in today to get top soil, Miracle-Gro and a cheap brand. Even though it is the first week of October, they still had top soil and mulch outside, for sale. 01/01/24, we went in this store today to just look around and kill some time but we actually found some good deals on cookies. Chocolate chip, Oatmeal raisin and peanut butter cookies for $1 per bag. Good deal. 3/16/24, we went in to pick up a few things I'm going to need to fix my Uncles truck. Ive been a customer at rural king since its opening. Tues. May 3rd they lost my business. I arrived @730 to get some feed and plants. The store closes at 9 so I knew I had plenty of time however i did spend quite some time debating getting more chicks until i saw them. Tanks had 3-4 different varieties in them and when i questioned what they were, i was given guesses. Now some might not care but i do. I asked why they were seperated and mixed and if they were on sale due to them not clearly knowing any information. I was told no so @830 I began to head to check out. About 8 people were in line with only one register open. I questioned a lady at the first register, who began to berate me in a very loud voice telling me I needed to go around to customer service that ALL registers were closing and only customer service would be Checking out. I tried to explain my cart and husband were in the line. She said it's closing after that customer go around. Then she proceeded to close register 1 and pull them tray. She them heads to customer service and starts ordering customers to pull the chains behind them to close off every register like they work there. After another 10 minute wait our cart full with over 200.00 dollars of stuff and still 6 people ahead of us and now 4 behind us, the same lady reopens register 1 taking the another guy to check out. I was beyond furious. And I look at the clock and it is only 8:45. I had had enough! I pushed my full cart to the side desk and told them they could put it back i was done. If a store doesn't close until 9, at LEAST 1 register...

I am in town visiting my parents and went to rural king with them. Prior to arriving at the store, my son mentioned that he was hungry. My parents told me about the popcorn! Apparently it's a big deal. When we arrived the first thing I asked customer service was where the popcorn was. She pointed me to the popcorn machine and it was empty. Understandable, they were busy, so I asked her to make some and she said yes. 20 minutes later I was still standing by the popcorn machine and no popcorn had been made. I ended up dipping some popcorn out of a giant bucket and throwing it in the machine, and the woman scolded me which was warranted. However, when we left, there still wasn't any popcorn. The gal at customer service looked up and said in a very sassy tone —"I can't do my job and make popcorn". That comment really ticked me off, but since I was with my parents and my small child I bit my tongue.

I called the store the next day to share my feedback with customer service and spoke with a lovely lady named Jean. She was very empathetic and apologized. I can't praise her customer service enough.

With all that said, my parents go to the store all the time, I personally will never return because of that experience. But I do thank Jean for apology and...
