Larry's Super Market — Local services in Raleigh

This is a terrible place to do business, went here today looking for some Pig Feet, they looked terrible so I looked at the Porterhouse Steaks, they looked better than any of the other meats in the store. Bought 3 packs of Porterhouse that was price between $6-7 then saw some that I thought was on sale that was ranging for .79 cent to .87 cent. Got to the counter to buy the steaks, the cashier told me she had never seen the price this cheap, she said let me check with the boss, she came back and told me the price was wrong, I told her that’s not my fault, it’s says what it say to I should get it for that price. She said I’ll call the boss, he came out and said I can’t give you these steaks for that price. He said where can you go and get steaks for that price. I say Larry’s because that is the price on it. Any decent business would have given you that meat for that price. You screwed up not me. I will never shop at this nasty smelly store again. Bad service for show. The health department should close you down. Just remember you have a store because you have customers. You can’t keep a business treating people the way you did me, my first time there and trust and believe, this black woman will never return to this nasty store. You don’t deserve any stars but I had to give one. 🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾RUN AWAY...

So I drove to Larry's on Monday 5/16 because of the good reviews on the internet. I was there to purchase some Ribeyes. Most of the packs looked poorly marbled. The packages are not marked as to the grade (which they should be), however they are very clearly not choice. I would call these select at best. I bought 3 packs of the more marbled Ribeyes and took them home. Upon opening the 1st pack they had a very strong smell. I know that can happen sometimes, so I rubbed some seasoning on them and put them in a sealed container in the fridge. When I went back for them, the steaks were turning brown and smelled worse than the day before. I knew they wouldn't kill me, so I cooked them anyways, 2 1/2 minutes each side. They were the worst Ribeyes I have ever eaten. Tonight I am going to cook up the remaining steaks for the dogs. They are not fit for human consumption.

Yes it's true as soon as you open that door its smells like live stock lol. But thats a key note of the South and a little taste of history. You can have a warehouse of meats and a thousand employees but the little family oriented shop where you had the pleasure to be greeted by Ms Mary Jo bless her soul and the rest of the staff. I wouldn't change it for the world. It makes me remember all the Raleigh natives and surrounding areas to come and talk outside about life family and food. Their meat boxes has fed alot of our events. After Poorboys left Larrys kept that same energy right in the heart of Raleigh.
