I have lived in two different units in this complex (a 3rd floor 1 bed 1 bath and a 2nd floor 2 bed 1 bath), and I have been happier here than in any other community I have ever lived in. All of the floor plans are unique and interesting in their own ways. The third floor ones feature skylights which let in a lot of natural light, and a lot of vertical space which makes a smaller apartment feel so much bigger than it really is. The second floor units have a ton of windows, a generously sized laundry room, and balcony which connects directly to the stairwell. I've toured a 1st floor 2 bed 2 bath, and I can say that all units have a great open feeling to them. No room is hidden away in a corner, and the spaces feel ample and inviting. The building and units are just well-designed, and so much nicer to live in than the cramped labyrinth type apartments, or the boring boxy "luxury" dorm room/prison cell type apartments.
These units are well-maintained, and it shows. These buildings are mid 1980's construction (the wood-burning fireplaces are a dead giveaway), but they have been upgraded over the years in meaningful ways. The kitchens especially are nice for the price of living here. Furthermore, I have had very little trouble with insects and wildlife (especially considering how wooded the property is). Lastly, anything that does break or is worn out gets fixed promptly and to a satisfying level. I have never had any maintenance, plumbing, pest control, HVAC, or electrical issues here that haven't been fixed quickly and correctly the first time.
This community is a great value for the money. Aside from what I've already mentioned, the property is beautiful, it is quiet (even despite being so close to I-40), I have had no issues with neighbors, all of the community amenities are well located, the pool area is beautiful and well-maintained, and parking is no problem. I'm a single man and school teacher in Cary, and at my budget I usually only have two options: live in a broken down slum apartment at inflated Cary rent prices, or commute from way out on the other side of Raleigh to be at work by 7 AM. This place is technically in Raleigh, but you can throw a rock and hit Cary. It is well-priced in a great part of town.
The last thing I'll mention is about the people that run this place. The holding company (Towne Properties) really seems to care about who they choose to manage their properties, and the two super kind and personable ladies that run the show at Regency Place are Patricia and India. They do pretty much everything short of maintenance all by themselves, and they are wonderful at it. They know everyone who lives here by name, and they even know some of their pets. They handle every concern you have personally and promptly, and you feel that they really care about you. They publish a newsletter and hold community events regularly, which helps this place feel like more of a home than other complexes where you are just a tenant and a number in some company's bottom line.
Where their kindness, hard work, and dedication has shined through most for me though has been their response to the tragic fire that ripped through one of their buildings on April 3, 2020. The reason I am in a different unit now is because of that fire. They were here with us after hours (until almost midnight) supplying 18 households with food and care while the fire department and police handled the blaze. Even in the midst of COVID-19, they worked tirelessly to move as many displaced residents into open units as quickly and seamlessly as possible. They gave me keys for my current home within three days of the fire in my old home. I could not thank them more for all the work they have done for me, and this is why I have taken the time to write such a thorough and glowing review. I stand by everything I have said, and I will continue to live at Regency Place until such a time comes where I can purchase property of my own in the area. Come visit, and I'll wave at you from my balcony...
Read morePros: -Affordable rent.,-Most neighbors are friendly., -Pool, -Small gym, -Plenty of parking., -Well maintained lawn. -Usually quiet with an exception my neighbors neglected dog under me whose owners think is ok to leave this poor dog barking for 1/2-hour, 1 hour and once for 2 days.
Cons: -Amenities: Gym equipment is dated and often the 2 treadmills are constantly breaking down. 1 the letters are no legible., -Breezeway is never swept where you would leave you can of garbage for pick. Unfortunately, this attracts bugs and animals they will tear bags left aside or on top of the cans in search of food leaving trash left behind. Plenty of bugs. -Managment gossip about each other to and in front of tenants., -My neighbors in the apartment underneath me has left their dog barking, yelping and crying for 2 days most all day and throughout the night and into the early morning and repeat the second day. -Knocked on the door no one home. Notified management 2 emails and in person. The dog runs back and forth underneath my apartment barking and crying for his owner at the random hours noted. Mark was annoyed and, on another day, same complaint became rude and asked if I wanted to move back to NJ. March, April, May and today June 1, 2024, dog continues to bark and cry when the tenants leave out. Management request we meet the woman would not stop yelling at me kept referring to me as, "That woman." even after I introduced myself. As I decided to leave this ambush style meeting arranged by Patricia-(She informed she planned the meeting.) the neighbor yells, "I can let the dog bark for 30 minutes while I go get coffee so stop complaining." Today I guess they decided to go for coffee for an hour because that is how long the dog has been barking and continues as I type. Management states, "This is a pet friendly community, and this is communal living." There are other dogs that live in this building and not one barks as excessively at random hours as the neighbor's dog under me. To date nothing has been done.
*I have various days and hours of footage of this poor dog barking and crying. *
Also sent to management both Mark and Patricia.
Message to the owner my number of record is available in the office where I can be reached by phone. Unfortunately, after the treatment I received by your management staff and the tenants under me I do not feel comfortable coming back to that office. You can also provide me with your name and contact information to speak directly. Thank you,...
Read moreI just renewed my lease and have throughly enjoyed my stay here. I was scrambling to find an apartment complex, and I stumbled upon this one, and I'm so glad I did. What really makes this place beautiful is the staff, in particular, Mark Ribar. He has been so wonderful to work with, he is always willing to answer any question, jumps on concerns, and really makes one feel like a special part of this community. For example, when I first moved in, I had a maintenance issue that just continued. When the issue wasn't resolved, Mark advocated for me and sent maintenance out until it was fixed; he worked with me the whole way until it was resolved. He advocates for his tenants and goes above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable. And I know some people may be thinking "well all property staffers are like that, they just want to sell you the place." He was upfront with cost and any concerns I had. He didn't try and sell me this place, he was honest about everything, let me make my own decision, and he has made it so much more comfortable and enjoyable when I did choose to live here. Property managers who listen are so important in this housing market and it doesn't get much better than Mark, he is one of the main reasons I chose this location.
Keep in mind the buildings are older, but in my experience everything has run fine. Bugs were common when I first moved in, but are hardly seen now (pest control is on sight, and Raid is your best friend). Extra charges are a bit high (like valet trash, which would be nice if it was optional), but if you factor in location, staff, the layout of the apartments, and the community, it is well worth it. Before I moved in. the place was cleaned deeply for no cost to me.
Some notable things for apartment hunters: are there are no washer or dryers in unit, but they are on sight and can also be rented for a pretty cheap cost! With valet trash, sometimes tenants can leave a bit of a mess, but overall everything is pretty clean. Maintenance responses can be a bit slow or incomplete upon job, but again, Mark is a great resource and will advocate for you! There are no ceiling fans, probably my biggest complaint which is so minor in the scheme of things haha. Everyone is really friendly and there are gatherings for tenants on holidays and fun events put together by staff!
A huge thank you to Mark for making my...
