I go here all the time. I have a current service dog and have never had a problem with him in this store till last night.
To kind of start off, I have a washed service dog that I had to wash because he was attacked at Walmart by a black and white pitbull that an old man owns and claims is a service dog, but it was off leash, and attacked him. So he became fearful of public access. Well, there was a day where my current service dog was sick, so I couldnāt bring him with me to Family Fare,so I brought my washed service dog, because he still does his work at home and stuff, so I thought Iād give it a try. Well, it didnāt go well. He barked at some guy, that even the employees thought looked suspicious, but the manager asked me to not bring him again. Fine. I didnāt plan to anyway. Lol
Well, last night, July 9, 2024, I was at family fare with my service dog, and some guy was in there with his what he said, 8 month old pitbull puppy on a retractable leash, in family fare. It tried to lunge and attack my actual service dog twice. When I told him pets donāt have public access, especially not a grocery store, he said āsheās just a baby, sheās learning.ā Okay? Sheās not a service dog. I went and told the manager, Vern, and he said he canāt do anything about it because he doesnāt know itās not a service dog. Um are you stupid? The dog is lunging and trying to attack my actual service dog, is on a retractable leash, and youāre telling me you canāt tell that itās not a service dog? Really Vern? But yet you asked me not to bring my washed service dog because he barked. Where was the āI donāt know that itās not a service dogā when you told me not to bring my washed service dog? He then proceeded to tell me that next time thereās an issue, he was told to ask both of us to leave. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is illegal, as my dog is an actual service dog that I spent thousands of dollars and hours training to be a service dog. He is protected and covered under ADA FEDERAL Law. He by law has public access.
Also, I will be contact the South Dakota FBI and reporting the incident and the fact that I told Vern, and he did nothing about it, putting my service dog and myself in harms way and danger. If he wouldāve just given me 5 minutes to educate him a little on the ADA Federal law involving service animals, I wouldnāt be taking things this far. But he didnāt want to hear it. So I guess heāll hear it in court.
What you did sir, is called, āMisprison of Felonyā. The crime being someoneās pet dog tried attacking my service dog, I told you about it, therefore at that point you knew about it, but you didnāt do anything about it and said you canāt do anything about it because āhow do you know itās not a service dog?ā Iāve never heard such a stupid argument over something so obvious.
All you had to do sir, was give me 5 minutes to educate you politely when I went up to you, and you kept walking and said you donāt want to hear it. So now, youāve forced me to have to take federal action against you. I will also be posting the video on my social medias so people can see how those of us with disabilities and service animals are treated because businesses donāt train and educate their employees on the ADA Federal Law. And yes, I is legal, and thousands of people do it. And itās a third party...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreZero stars today for Fathers Day. Walked in with the kid and went through the motions of selecting the best watermellon as they were on sale for 4.99 right in front of the entrance. Looked around the store for the more fruit and loaded up. In 6 min they had taken the sign down and wanted to charge me almost twice as much as what was posted. I put the watermelon back as they wouldnāt honor the price they had posted just minutes before at the main entrance to the store. The mangos? Whatās the new price for those after putting them in my cart? What about the pineapples? What is the new price for those after putting them in my cart. I really want to support local businesses but this is no way to treat a father with their kids in tow on the way to a Fatherās Day gathering. Family Fare saved a few bucks on one watermelon and lost a customer for life. Big mistake. They didnāt even bother putting a new price on the box. Just tape holding up the old better price they would let...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you want fresh "daily made" sushi, go elsewhere. I am a DIEHARD Safeway sushi fan, because I have never had a bad experience with their sushi, and their sushi chefs are great. I really wanted sushi today for lunch but I was on the wrong side of town and thought I'd give Family Fare a shot as I had never tried their sushi.
I bought something with cucumber, avocado, carrots, cabbage as well as crab. I was pretty excited for it as Safeway has something similar without that crab and I love it.
I opened up the container and the cucumber had MOLD. On BOTH of the rolls! I took that cucumber chunk out and took a bite, thinking it might be worth it. NOPE, it was not. The crab tasted like it had gone bad and had a strong odor. I threw that whole container away after having only taken one bite, wasting $7. All of the sushi in on the shelf was WAY overpriced, and obviously not worth it.
Needless to say I'll be going to Safeway for all of my grocery...
