This is NOT a family friendly course, or friendly at all for that matter. We (2 people) made plans to meet up with two other people and had a tee time reserved. We got there early enough to hit the driving range while we waited for the rest of our group but we were told we had to pay for everything all together, the driving range and the actual golf game, we couldn't just pay for the range and then pay for the golf later when everyone arrived. So then when we went to pay they wouldn't let our 10 year old tag along while we played and said we had to pay for him anyway, even though he wasn't golfing. We were just going to pay the extra cost, but then he told us that they don't allow groups of more than 4 people. Again, only 4 were playing but since we had our son with us that made 5 and they wouldn't allow us all on the course together. The guy at the counter was super rude about everything so we just decided to leave and go spend our money somewhere else. Then when the rest of our group arrived, apparently the guy made some snotty comment about us to our friends. We'll never go back to this course, even though we live close by. We spend a decent amount of money and golf weekly, sometimes multiple times. We've never been treated so poorly at any course we've ever been to, it's as if they don't want people to actually play their course at all. Our friends ended up playing anyway, just the two of them, and they said the condition of the course and greens were terrible. This is probably a great course for grouchy people...
Read moreI recently tried to set up a fundraising golf tournament for a local public high school here. I had everything lined up and approved through the school district for the tournament. They charge $12,500 for a tournament, which is fine, but it's an extra charge for food and beverage. I explained we had a sponsorship through a food vendor who would provide food for us for free since this was a fundraising event for a public school that doesn't have a lot of money. They told me they don't allow that and we'd have to purchase through them. This was for an event for a public school that uses Maplewood as their home golf course for the golf team, they are literally right down the hill. It's a shame that the greed of the course outweighs helping the local community. We weren't asking for a discount on the price it takes to do the tournament, just trying to set something up to help our local kids with the resources we have. Definitely wouldn't recommend playing here or hosting anything here, very...
Read moreThe starter customer service is the worst I ever had. Went to the front desk pay for a round and a golf cart. Monday January 6th 2025, at 10:20 am, for my scheduled round. The (front Desk Host). takes my money, name and phone number for the golf cart. I ask for a key, DH you already have two key out. we have two starting rounds, that would be 4 carts. DH walks around desk, walks outside, yell's at one of my guest "Who is he riding with".. Very unprofessional. Guest says that guy pulling up in his car. DH very stern like. We walk into club house, I ask may I please have a key, if we have to many I will gladly give you the extra key, if we have one. What a Donkey, just want you want, some DH pushing around the guest. Lest to say that take's your mind off you game.. Not a good way to start a round. Every time I go to this course, the DH's act like Gods, like there doing you a favor. Letting you play a public golf course. IF you can't be nice, don't...
