It's unfortunate that it says friendly Market at this particular Hardings. I've been to many of the Hardings in and around the Kalamazoo and portage areas. They have this place beat hands down. Your never greeted with a high or good bye from any of the workers at the Richland location. The mgr never makes eye contact or asks if there is anything he can help you with. The irony here is he used to be that way when he was the manager in Galesburg, now that he's out of there everybody is much happier and they all have smiles on there faces, just like it used to be in Richland when Len & Don were working here. Friendliness starts at the top and if management acts like they don't care about the customer it rubs off on the employees. Although some of the prices may be a little more expensive than big chain stores, the friendly service and short checkout wait times definitely make up for this. The staff at Harding's do a great job of making you feel welcome. They almost always seem happy to help -- something I find very rare in big chain grocery stores, if I can even find a staff member at all. Read moreLife-long resident of Richland. Well acquainted with the father who started Hardings before passing the family business on. However, we are sick and tired of being harassed by the cashiers for entering without a mask when the sign out front clearly states an exception.
There is no covid and never was something to be concerned about; all an agenda to set a dangerous precedence that usurps out freedoms. Not to mention, a supermarket would be the last place to go if you are concerned for your safety. Don't insult my intelligence.
