It was very nice, although I believe they are way too expensive on just about everything. No wonder so many people rather just hit a red box, or pay for a pay-per-view and pop a bag of popcorn, but I didn't go to watch a movie that time, we just went to enjoy the arcade for a bit. To let my best friends little girl have some fun playing games, it was pretty expensive for the price on most of the games as well, and half the buttons or equipment seemed broken or near broken, the place did seem to be kept very clean, hopefully well sanitized as well, but I can not neither confirm or deny whether they were or not, and the employee that was over their when we first got their was nice and helpful. However I did buy some popcorn, and candy and asked for change for some of the older machines out in the mall that still takes quarters and a collectable penny making machine and my total for 2 small popcorn, 2 boxes of candy, came up to like 11 or 12 dollars and some odd change, I gave them a 20 and asked for 2 dollars in quarters and ten cents back in pennies, they didnt have the proper change to give back to me, which isnt a big deal, I am generally an easy going, person that knows how stressful working with the public can be, and hate those people trying to make our jobs harder then it has too be or completely hateful with us for no reason, I try treating employees with the respect and curiosity I wish to be treated with or put myself in their shoes and act as if it were me working their job, but after 5 minutes or so of waiting on my change I asked what was the issue, and they then told me that they didn't have the full amount of what they owed me in return, and if only they would've just said it from the beginning they would've learned just the same way as they did, I'm not hard to get along with, and I wasn't very worried about them being like .25 or .35 cents short or however much it was, I just appreciate them telling me up front they were trying to figure out how to get it so they could make it right with me, but I'm not like most people we see when dealing with the public and going to get mad or demand to see a manager or whatever, I told them they could just give me what they could and I wasn't worried about the rest, but it was after 10 pm like 10:30, or maybe a little later and I had to be at work at 5 am the next morning so really, I was just wanting to get out of their and go get...
Read moreThe past two times I’ve been here within the past few months I’ve been charged wrong at the concessions counter, and not by just a few dollars. The first time was $5 and some change and today was $8 and some change. I’m not one to write a bad review but it was the same girl each time who’s made the mistake on register and it’s been consecutive my past two visits. Yes, they make it right by giving me the difference in cash when charging the card but still twice in a row would make anyone hesitant to come back. Also, I shouldn’t have to be vocal about the price being wrong if the person is making my order. It did irritate me more today when it happened considering it was before a 12:00 movie. I get they can be low staffed and things get stressful, but other than me and the child I was with there was only two people behind me. Not to mention theater was empty for our movie other than me and child. No reason for stale popcorn or careless mistakes when it’s this dead and also when considering the price point for the quality of theater. I’m sorry but I won’t be back and it breaks my heart because last summer there were times when I would visit this theater three times a week. Again, I get mistakes happen, but twice in a row really isn’t the...
Read moreThis place is ok. Its the only theater in this area. It's probably worth using a little more gas to get to Abingdon or Bristol to watch a movie. The last movie we watched here was a couple of years ago. The screen had a big tear in it. The movie itself was not positioned right on the screen and when I asked about it, they never fixed it. It cut the bottom of the movie off completely.
EDIT: Someone from the theater contacted me about this post and said they have invested $250,000 into new projectors about a year ago. They also told me they are going to remodel the place to give it a more up to date look in the near future. We'll give it another try.
EDIT #2: I took my family back to see a movie here after chatting with the owner. They have definitely improved the quality of the projectors. The sound was better as well. There are a ton of games for kids to play. There is also a party room or two for the public to use for special events. The 3 star rating I gave before was from a few years ago. They have made this place tons better since the last visit. The only problem now is the dying mall. It hurts me to see this place so desolate. The mall used to be so full of life...
