Nice, clean peaceful place to visit, although it used to be a huge attraction for the locals and minors or teens looking to meet up with friends and hangout, but it has become a dead mall lately, and went downhill so fast, and I'm surprised that it hasn't been closed down for good, especially since most the stores that used to be in it has shut down and went out of business or moved somewhere else. And 2 of its biggest losses were trader jerry, and Kmart, with g2k games being one of my favorite and most missed stores it's not looking like it's going to be able to bounce back with the current owner or whoever's running the place. It still has potential to become a family favorite shopping plaza once again, and offer a thriving atmosphere for stores to come and succeed, I don't see it ever again becoming anything more then another dead mall that failed around here. If I was ever given the chance to buy it, or manage it, I think with a couple good moves, couple wise investments and new strategies along with rental rates, it could become more popular then it's ever been before but as it stands now, a beauty salon, belks, movie theater, game room, and Italian village, are the only shops left in the mall, I believe, and it wouldnt surprise me if they leave or fail within the next 5 or 10 years if nothing changes to bring people back to wanting to go their. I'm honestly surprised they have hung in their this long but I hope they make it a...
Read moreClaypool Hill Mall feels like a shadow of what it once was, and unfortunately, even recent efforts to revitalize it seem to be falling short. While the addition of Anytime Fitness is a step in the right direction, it’s not enough to breathe new life into this struggling mall.
The atmosphere is somber, with many storefronts empty or closed, giving the entire place an eerie, abandoned vibe. What few businesses remain are doing their best, but the lack of variety and foot traffic makes it hard to justify calling this a “mall” anymore.
It’s disheartening to see a place that was once a community hub in such decline. The management needs a clear and bold plan to attract more retailers, dining options, and entertainment venues if they want to have any chance of saving it. Otherwise, the mall will continue to drift closer to being a relic of the past.
For now, unless you’re visiting a specific business like Anytime Fitness or one of the few remaining stores, there’s little reason to stop by. I sincerely hope the Claypool Hill Mall can turn things around, but as it stands, it’s knocking on...
Read moreThis place is mostly in disrepair, it's got mold and chipped paint, harsh lighting and dusty air quality. It also offers very few reasons to even pull into its parking lot. They do have an Anytime Fitness, a small movie theater called Broadway Cinema, with over priced movie posters and of course Belk, the place were you don't belong. Well, at least the employees think you don't and the prices definitely out weigh the areas economy. The gym and the cheap movie tickets are what saves this place, even if the movie theater is extremely dated, the staff are friendly enough. Mostly it's not the theater, but the movie anyway that...
