Everything that could go wrong went wrong with this “special order”. It was our first visit ever to this store and we were excited to be buying a new bed. We walked in and quickly found the bed of our dreams, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. It was perfect! The mattress was comfy, nice material in a pretty blue color with attractive design. We laid on it and played with the remote control. It was great! Exactly what we wanted. Told the salesman it was exactly what we wanted, but in x-long twins. He wrote it up, we paid for it and patiently awaited its arrival. We were told two weeks. After two weeks we were told there was a problem with the fabric and it would be another couple weeks. This made me I little uneasy, because now I don’t know what the fabric will look like. Asked if I could cancel and was told no. Waited another two weeks. Still having problem with fabric. Ask to cancel again. Told no. Another two weeks go by and finally the beds are delivered and they are white. White and not the same fabric! I call and send pictures, but I am told that on special orders you just never know what the company (Justice) will send. That evening I crawl into bed and look at the remote control. It’s not the remote that I was playing with in the store. Lift up the mattress and discover its not the base that was displayed under the mattress I picked out in the store. We hadn’t even looked at any other bases in the store. Guessing the salesman wrote up the order wrong, but when we discussed it with the manager, it was basically our problem that we didn’t know the salesman wrote it up wrong. Just because I was curious, we went back to the store. The exact set we thought we ordered is still sitting in the same spot. Still in blue fabric and still with the base we wanted. Buyer beware! If you shop at Fowler Furniture, never “special order”! Always leave the store with what you pay for!! There is more to this nightmare, but this is probably enough to warn future...

They have to get it from another location and we can pick it up in two days. Pay for it and everything is great....till we get the bed. The model we chose was super plush. This mattress was hard as a rock. My husband tried sleeping on it and he just couldn’t. We ended up sleeping on the couch instead of switching mattresses back. He calls the next day to ask about the return policy, and guess what? Because we didn’t buy the most expensive bed, we can’t return it. I understand there’s a break in period but looking at multiple reviews on the mattress many reviews say that it never gets softer. That’s fine. Well go to a reputable mattress company that offers returns and trial periods. However, I just want other shoppers to be aware that if they purchase from here, your basically stuck with whatever you purchase. Looking through the reviews, it seems as though others who have spent a lot more than us, weren’t allowed to cancel and return any of their items either. Read moreI was really disappointed in the customer service at the Fowler store in Richmond. We bought a new La-Z-Boy recliner and after 2 tries to put 2 different ones ( of the same type) of La-Z-Boys together , we ended up taking one that had some slight damage (1 1/2” long 3/8” wide strip of wood gone from the platform). Unfortunately we had already paid for it and didn’t discover the flaw until we went to load it.
It was then when we tried to put the best of 2 chairs together, which was a mess. So we ended up having to take a chair that my husband had to bring home and fix. It was a simple fix, a sander and some stain. But the point was, even after I suggested a discount, no one acknowledged me and acted like it was my problem, and I guess it was!
