We purchased a leather couch & two recliners, along with two ends tables from Gallery Furniture in January of 2019. We took out the warranty so it would be covered if we needed any repairs done to it. We were told at the time we purchased the warranty, if we didn't use it in 5 or 6 years, can't remember which, we would get our money back that we paid for the warranty. I called to see what we had to do to receive that return, & we were told we don't get our money back, we would receive a store credit & that's NOT what we were told when we purchased it. We recently went to the Gallery Furniture located at the West Grand Parkway, & when we walked in, a gentleman asked if he could help us, & I told him we were looking for some lamps, & asked him if we could use our store credit in any of the locations. He said yes you can, & said just look around 3 or 4 times. Got it dude, we'll just look around! He never offered to help us find the kind of lamps we were looking for, so we assumed since there probably wouldn't be any real sale, with an exchange of money, it wasn't worth his time to help us. We walked around the entire store, & only found one lamp that would have worked in our bedroom, & there was no price on it. I took a picture of it & we continued to look. We finally made it back up to the front of the store, where another gentleman asked if we needed help. We told him we needed the price on a lamp, & that we needed two of them. Well, as our luck was going, they only had one lamp available. So it was a wasted trip, with very little help from anyone working there. No one in that store ever offered to help us until we got back up to the front of the store. We looked at lamps when we bought our furniture at the North location, & they didn't have anything we liked either. We'll look again, but not holding our much hope. I'm very disappointed in the service we received at the Grand Parkway location, but even more disappointed that we were told we would get our money back, but now we won't. Lamps are the only thing we need, & if we can't find any, then I guess our $650.00 store credit will be useless, & that's money we could use. Maybe Gallery Furniture needs it...
Read moreWent in on a weeknight. All the sales guys were watching their iPads at a table in front. One slowly got up and said hello & asked what he could help me and my friend look for.
I told him I was looking for a very particular type of dining room table (round, seats more than 4, & has a modern look).
He watched his iPad while he was walking us to the area we needed to look in. When I looked at him watching his iPad he looked guilty and then told me there’s a police chase that happened earlier that day.
When we went to look for electric fireplaces next he stopped to watch the football game that was playing on a TV that was behind a couch floor model.
In the end, he could not show me items that fit the specifics of the decor styles I am looking for. Rather than just saying they don’t carry that style in stock he just began to either disparage or making ill informed comments.
A couple examples are, “We don’t carry velvet furniture because it’s not in style” (wildly inaccurate) and “I wouldn’t sell anything with marble in it. It’s not going to be real marble so the quality isn’t as good” (inaccurate).
There was also a weird random large pile of bags of chips on the table by the entryway.
I did appreciate that they have water bottles in excess throughout the store in case you are thirsty.
However, so many bottles in all of the coolers Bellfort the store had water droplets on the outside of them. I also noticed that the bottles are flip top which you don’t see often in water bottles besides Smart Water. The odd thing is, I picked up a bottle in one place in the store and the safety/freshness seal was broken so I threw it away. At the next cooler I looked for another one with no broken freshness seal and couldn’t find one. So, I’m assuming they refill the disposable water bottles and then put them in the coolers. This may be “first world problems”, but gross. And how do I know what is or isn’t in these water bottles as well as whose lips have...
Read moreWe ordered an Amish table and chairs and had to wait several weeks for it due to the holiday closure at the Amish furniture factory. Paid on it for a month or so before delivery. Once it was finally delivered, it was delivered with damage to the table top in mid March. Delivery guys said that someone would contact us about it. That never happened, so two weeks later my husband called the store and was told that due to COVID, they were not going into homes for inspection of damage. We gave them until things settled down and they never contacted us, so in October I called the store and spoke to Valerie. She said that they had been waiting on us to let them know when we comfortable with them coming in. I let her know that we wanted them to come when we initially called, but they refused. She offered a refinish on my Amish dining table and I told her that I did not pay for a refinished table. I wanted the top replaced due to the Amish finish that would be destroyed by refinishing. She wanted me to send her pictures, which I did and have never heard from her. The damage is difficult to see in photos because of the glare, but is it shiny spots across the entire top that looks like there was a chemical or something on the moving blanket it was wrapped in and where the ratchet strap ran across the table top. You can easily see it in person. This purchase has been the most disappointing and most expensive for such a small piece of furniture. I will never return to Gallery Furniture for their low grade Amish furniture again. I will go to the Amish furniture store where they stand by their products and deliver quality merchandise. My next call to resolve this...
