EDIT: 5/24 After I posted this review, Bergen Granite threatened us with legal action (not sure how this is even possible) and refused to replace cabinets under warranty that are already cracking. They also have never provided us an itemized invoice and refused again to provide it to us because of this review. I think that behavior speaks for itself.
We had Bergen design and order our kitchen. The designer Adam talks a convincing game but is obviously not skilled enough to complete a high end kitchen. Measurements were taken incorrectly, and we ended up overpaying for items we didn't need. Adam designed a fridge column that did not reflect the actual specs of the fridge and an island that could not fit in the kitchen. We had to cut more than a third of the island during install. Also watch out these are not true custom cabinets--they just frankenstein stock pieces but show you a rendering that looks as you would hope. Then in reality it looks atrocious with unfinished seams and edges everywhere. And when the supplier sent incorrectly sized pieces, Bergen also did nothing to get them to us in a timely manner. With those delays we did learn that the cabinets they sold as cabinets made in the US were actually only "assembled" here and made in Taiwan. When we had issues with our first installer, their "expert" completed the job incorrectly as well and made us order extra panels we didn't need and were not usable. They refunded us only a tiny portion of all the excess cost and blamed and gaslighted us throughout. We are now going to have to take legal action to resolve this even though we were willing to compromise so we could just get our kitchen done which is now 8 months behind schedule. We went to a true custom cabinet maker locally who saw how our kitchen was put together and laughed at how shoddy the design finish was.
We did get stone from them which was a slightly better experience but again Adam made a mess of things when he repeatedly made us come to the showroom to pick counter marble then told us after the fact there was not enough. That happened multiple times and we ended up going to New Granite who were beyond amazing...
Read moreAmazing company, from the first time you enter their store to the end of installation. If you are reading this in 2022 you know very well how difficult it is to get things right away. Almost every countertop company we went to told us the fabrication time is at least 10-15 days. Bergen cabinets people told us “about 7-10 days” but they did it in 2!!! And this is definitely not the case when it’s a quick but sloppy job. We were able to schedule the template within 3 days of initial call. The template person was very knowledgeable and professional. Privet Slava, if you ever read this. He took his time to make sure every inch is accounted for. Very precise job. Then they were in touch the next day to show us how they will cut their slab. Oh yes, they have a slab yard, they don’t go and order the stone, they already own it. Once we confirmed it took them 1 business day to fabricate our countertops. The installation took maybe 2 hours max. But again the speed of the process doesn’t mean sloppy. Installation was perfect. The speed of their job is result of professionalism and skill level probably from having a lot of experience. They are not rushing through the process they are just efficient. For us time was very important as we counted on some other company and it failed us in the last moment so we were very desperate for quick resolution. Overall every step was professional, efficient and quick. Reasonable pricing and is also easy to understand for first timers. Stylish, modern, beautiful and unique product imported from Europe. We did quartz but look at the pictures how gorgeous and expensive our countertops look. We got so many compliments just for countertops. I would give 10 stars if I could. I never ever want to go through kitchen remodel again but if I ever do - this is where I am getting my...
Read moreSpoiler Alert: This is going to sound like a paid review. If you don't want to read our story, here's a summation, in one word: "Phenomenal" We had pulled out our sink and vanity counter top, awaiting delivery of a replacement ordered from a catalog at a neighboring shop. When we found out (on Monday morning) that it was not in stock (even though it was verified and promised, and paid), we cancelled, and ran over to Bergen M+G. We were welcomed with genuine hospitality and warmth, the kind you cannot just put on and fake. Derrick (who had been so pleasant on the phone) had utmost patience as he showed us around,(they have a large and varied selection of materials, besides the catalog stuff) . He quite obviously loves his work, knows the materials, and understands your needs. Anyways...Here's the craziest part: This is midday on the Monday before Thanksgiving. After we picked out a slab, Derrick told us he would try to have the work done soon, but warned that they were busy, especially with the Holiday coming. When we got home, he called to say someone could come soon (that day!) to measure. Carlos came, measured meticulously! and left. The next day-unbelievable- Derrick called to say that they finished the counter top, and could install the granite that afternoon! Which is what happened! Great service, great quality, great price, and all with genuine warmth!
So this sounds like a paid endorsement, but it's 100% genuine. We plan to use Bergen M+G for any and all of our tile/granite needs from now on. Thank...
