This was one of my fav restaurants in NJ. The owner was very nice and always listened to the customers. This experience had been for a few year but ended today as the cashier changed from the owner. Food is great but service has been disappointing. While doing bbq, one of the person came and took all the meats out of the grill without asking if we need more and she told us that you don’t grill now so you can eat from the plate and if we change our mind, they can put the grill back on. This happened while we are eating. At least she needs to ask for our opinion first. Isn’t it the case? We asked water for once and another lady brought a water jar and we told her that we will keep the jar. Immediately she put the jar rather pounding and slided over to the table which was almost tilted over. I do see that they are busy but that’s not the service we expect especially when we were paying for the service close to 200$. While eating the cashier a young lady brought the check to the table so we returned the check as we are still waiting for other dishes. She later came to the table with a bill. Though it was a bit disappointing, we paid 15% tip for the table, but she returned again and what she told me was quite amazing. She told me that tip can be more and can they amend the bill and add $5 more to the tip since you ordered bbq.. so I asked do I have to match 20%? And she said no it’s not required but I would believe 20% is better. How ridiculous is that?! So I ended up saying no we will not let you amend the bill voluntarily to hit 20%. I would love to put 20% if they were more accomodating, but I am hard to believe someone tries to get a permission to add extra for the tip at the desk.. this is not the service we deserve but regardless tip is a gratitude after all. NOT something they can play with the bill. I guess they didn’t even say thank you while exiting the restaurant because of tip is a little as 15-16%!
You may lose one family as a loyal customer today but unless you changed your attitude towards the customers, you may lose more later and that won’t be a good for your business.
Thanks for the food. Food is great but service, the owner needs to really reflect on this.
Because we had been a loyal to the restaurant until today, I...
Read moreI am editing the review. And upgrading from 2 stars to 5 stars.
After the renovation, not only this restaurant upgraded its interior, the team was able to upgrade its service and taste. Major improvement. I had best KBBQ experiences (3 times recently here) in years. Their pork galbi is unparalleled.
I am leaving my previous review unedited below fyi. Fabulous Korean restaurant.

No, I did not get to eat here. But I stayed in the restaurant for more than 40 minutes during the very busy Saturday evening on 12/10/23.
This place was packed when I entered the premise at 6:50 pm for a party of 4. The receptionist asked me to write my name down without further instruction. So I waited patiently standing up near the entrance. After 20 minutes, I asked the receptionist once again for an update. She told me there was 1 group ahead of us.
10 minutes passed and 2 tables were turned around during this period and someone else were sitting down. And I asked one more time for an update and I got the same response: 1 more group ahead of us?
I waited 10 more minutes (for total of 40 minutes) and my group left the restaurant in disgust. I totally understand it was very busy. I totally understand it gets understaffed at time.
However, I do not understand and I disagree when the restaurant decide not to be transparent with the waiting guests and decided not to communicate with the waiting guests. I am NOT blaming the receptionist lady because she was too busy bussing and turning around tables. She was doing things beyond her job description.
I hope the owner takes this review rather seriously and takes a new approach (and adopts new protocol) during busy time and when it becomes overstaffed.
The food actually looked good and that’s the only reason I did not leave a 1...
Read moreI don't ever give bad reviews, but my experience at this restaurant today, was absolutely appalling. I came here with my family for a celebratory dinner, we were in all good spirits. the meat, wonderfully served. We ordered 3 servings of the pork belly for 4 people. A little over the pricey side, but nontheless, for good meat, it would be worth it. So our bill came up to over $100. Let me explain why. around 20 min into our stay, a waitress came over to us, and directly asked if we would like naengmyun, a cold noodle dish that is usually served at Korean bbqs. Never have I ever gone to a nearby Kbbq area that has not given these cold noodle dishes as part of the service. Continually saying that we would only like a serving to taste (small portion), the waitress did not comment and told us that the kitchen was taking last calls for orders. It was not close to the closing time, and we felt unnecessarily rushed and forced. service: the waitresses were impatient and impolite. Terrible bedside manner and had an aggressive approach. when we got the check, we called a waitress over and asked about our check and how the noodles were charged. Repeatedly saying that their restaurant has never put those dishes as service, the waitresses never uttered an apology at least for the miscommunication
Overall, I will refuse to come back here again. This sickening experience- no one should be subjected to that treatment. Dishonest and unapologetic, the restaurant waitresses effectively ruined our joyous celebration. My family and I feel as if they deliberately...
