Please be attentive — I experienced poor-quality service and a lack of responsibility. Don’t assume you’ll be treated with care.
I NOW have GREEN, DAMAGE NAILS and signs of possible INFECTION— and they refuse to take any responsibility.
Date of visit: April 11, 2025
I’m deeply disappointed with my experience at Elyel Beauty Parlor, and I feel obligated to share what happened — especially for others considering this salon.
April 11: I scheduled my appointment specifically with a technician named Alida for 3:00 PM. The salon called me earlier and asked if I could come at 2:00 PM instead — I agreed only under the condition that Alida would still do my nails. They confirmed she would.
When I arrived, I was seated with another technician. She called out to Alida by name, which made me realize something was wrong. I asked her directly: “What is your name?” and she hesitated before saying “Alida.” I immediately asked to speak to the manager. The manager admitted this was a mistake and said, “I take full responsibility.”
I wasn’t given a choice — the switch had already happened, and I was told, “This technician is also very good.” I decided to go ahead, although I felt uncomfortable.
April 12–13: The day after the service, I noticed strange white spots on several nails. I contacted the salon and asked to come in and show them the issues. They told me no appointments were available — even though I saw availability online. I sent a few photos showing the surface issues.
April 16: I called again and finally spoke to the manager. I explained that some nails were beginning to lift, and one nail felt weak. She dismissed my concern, blamed the problem on “previous product from another salon,” and told me they could only apply top coat to two nails — no proper fix. When I asked again if I could come in, I was told they were too busy. Again, I checked online and saw that they did have openings.
At this point, I sent additional close-up photos showing the damage, lifting, and poor quality — which I initially wanted to show in person.
April 18–22: My nails began lifting more. One fully detached, and I had to cut my natural nail to avoid pain. On April 23, during removal at another salon, I discovered that two nails had turned greenish-blue, possibly indicating infection. The new technician was shocked and suggested I see a doctor.
Throughout all this, the salon has refused to issue a refund or take responsibility — despite documented photos, my early communication, and worsening condition.

Summary of the issues: • Technician lied about her name (confirmed by manager), • I was misled over the phone about who would do my nails, • Manager admitted fault, but refused to offer a proper fix, • Nails lifted and detached, causing physical damage, • I was denied follow-up appointments despite visible availability, • Salon only engaged politely after I began a chargeback process, • I now require medical attention due to possible infection.
I paid $120 and received stress, physical damage, and total indifference from the staff. This is not how any client deserves to be treated. Be extremely cautious if you choose...
Read moreTo say this has been the ABSOLUTE BEST EXPERIENCE I have had at a salon in the U.S. is an understatement. Starting from the customer service - Alida was so sweet and accommodating. She gave me an appointment and called a hour before to confirm it. She even told me there’s parking in front of the building. When I arrived, the ambience was immaculate. The chairs were comfortable, the place was clean, the walls and equipment were new! Now to the important part - my hair my hair my hair!!!! I wanted a leave out. I wish I had taken a before picture - but I was so surprised that I couldn’t see the place where my hair ended and the weave started. This was even more impressive because my hair is 4C natural and I didn’t get a perm - she just used a hot iron. The blend was so smooth! I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. I love love love it. And the best part is that the price was the same as the random places I used to go to in Harlem - market price. Thank you so much Alida. I have found my salon - this is now my go to salon. One hundred percent,...
Read moreI found this place online and so so excited to come here. I have to say that this was BY FAR the worst pedicure I have ever received I would post pictures but you would loose your appetite. I was told that I couldn’t have my feet scrubbed because the next appointment is on the way. Mind you I booked 1 week ahead of time. The lady I was working with spoke perfect English but would not speak to me she would go talk about me and then have her coworker come talk to me which made me uncomfortable. I drove 40 mins and paid tolls because I really wanted to support this shop and their TikTok looks great but this was a god awful service. Not to mention I wasn’t event done yet and the person doing my nails was telling me to tip her In cash… you were too booked to complete my pedicure but not to ask for a tip? Also the parking is nonexistent. I have never been so...
