DO NOT USE!
Updated 11/22/24 We had our shattered shower door replaced by MY Shower Door. They agreed that companies do not guarantee glass, BUT they did say that based on their customer service policy, they would have replaced my glass at no extra charge... because it was the right thing to do. They installed a thicker panel of glass with an extra clamp (4 instead of Glass Pro's 3), all at a lower cost than my initial install!! They also pointed out that the Glasspro installers had installed one of the brackets backwards. That didn't necessarily cause the spontaneous shattering, but it DOES show a lack of attention to detail. Edel wouldn't even consider that his installers even might have done anything improperly - this gave me even less confidence in the quality of work. I am attaching new pictures of the beautiful work by MY Shower Door and the backward brackets.
GlassPros installed a frameless glass shower wall on Sept 12th. On October 1st, the glass wall literally exploded. Glass was found in the hallway and nearby bedroom…this was not a crack, and the glass fell - it exploded. Thank God no one was in the shower. We immediately called GlassPros, hoping someone would come out and look at the issue. No one came. A manager didn't return my messages. The manager, Giselle, did speak to my contractor to tell him it must have been our fault. I only spoke with Giselle after calling the company multiple times. She also told me it must have been our fault, maybe someone hit an edge. #1. That did not happen. #2. If their glass doors/walls can break with just a mistaken hit on it, I wouldn’t want them installing my shower wall.
I spoke with the owner, Edel Mena, who explained he would give me a $250 discount on replacing the $1205 wall I already paid for. If he thinks I would give him another $1005 to put in a product that I no longer have confidence in, he must be crazy. He kept saying “I can’t replace your wall for free…you can’t have a shower wall for free.” I PAID FOR A SHOWER WALL - it no longer exists. When I suggested that it could have been a mistake during install or poor glass quality (which other construction experts and a simple search on Google tell me are a legitimate possibility) he wouldn’t even consider that. Why didn’t he send someone out to look at it? Because he doesn’t care. He is making his assumption and sticking with that. Go to glass.com and search "exploding glass", it is obvious this is a real thing and absolutely could have happened to us.
Initially, the service was good and we were happy with how the project turned out. During our remodeling project, we actually had 2 showers fitted with glass by them. I am praying that the 2nd one doesn’t explode also. There is another customer, Keith, who gave a very positive review about their service which is one of the reasons we went with GlassPro. I WISH I had gotten the same service!
“I had a frameless shower door installed. I had a couple issues with the install that were totally out of glass Pros control they were manufactured defects. Glass Pro stood with me through the whole problem they came back time and time again and rectified everything until the job was good. This company is very reputable friendly and they stand by their work 100%.”
Why isn’t it conceivable that maybe MY frameless wall had a “manufactured defect”? Why didn’t GlassPros “stand with me”? Why don’t “they stand by their work”? I am so sad. We don’t have $1205 to throw away. All I can do now is warn you with my experience. It’s one thing to make a mistake and install a poor product, but it is entirely another to not take any ownership of that and leave a customer out to dry. That is poor business. I wish I had asked if they were bonded and insured for issues like this. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET YOUR GLASS...
Read moreWe purchased our home about 3.5 years ago and it was just built at the time. Our master bath had a framed glass shower enclosure installed by the builder. It worked well for us for the first 3 years then the door started becoming unable to be closed all the way. It seemed as though the hinge (which is plastic in most of these builder grade enclosures) had lost its rigidity and was allowing the door to sag. After researching how involved and somewhat dangerous it would be to attempt to fix this issue, we decided to replace the enclosure with a brand new modern frameless one. We phoned Idel from GlassPro Sevices after seeing an advertisement of his. Being new to the area we didn't have any friends to give us recommendations, so after meeting him we decided to move forward. Well, that was one of the best contractor decisions we ever made. From the beginning to the final install, Idel and his team were on time, polite, courteous and professional. They transformed our bathroom from a builder grade one to a custom looking masterpiece. There was a hiccup or two along the way, but GlassPro Services were responsive and came back to address our concerns happily. I give Idel and his team my highest recommendation and hope that if you are in the market, you give...
Read moreI had seen a special tropical scene from a company out of state. I contacted Yelita in Glass Pro's office about the possibility of their copying the etching I had into a beautiful shower door for our guest home. They took on quite a challenge but Edel said his team could get it done. It was actually done quite quickly, well ahead of their projected timetable. The results were stunning, better than the original drawing and they converted an odd size opening to a very chic 2 door unit, with the artwork covering all glass! Their installers, Lazero and Jorge are extraordinary skilled to have safely installed and aligned the artwork perfectly. Glass Pro has a shower door for every budget, and as you can tell, is unafraid to take on a challenge that many companies in the business won't even talk to you about it much. I give them five stars in every category of glass doors. I am sure their commercial line, and all users will have a great family experience with all the folks at Glass Pro's and I hope you'll give them a chance to bid on your next glass door. They underpromise and over deliver. Hope you can blow up the photo and let your...
