Edna Gardner Whyte, a friend of Amelia Earhart taught me to fly at Aero Valley airport in 1972 when I was in my early 20's. It was one of the best times in my life. In those days there was open land as far as you could see in all directions in Roaoke Texas when your wheels left the ground. Edna and I became good friends afterwards. After Edna's old Cessna 150 she taught me to fly in, I flew out of there in a Cessna 140, a 172 and then a Bonanza, all planes I owned. I’m sure we could have downed a cold one or two and shared some stories from back in the day. Anyway, when the pumps at Epic are back in service, 52F will be my go to when visiting family & friends in the DFW metroplex, assuming there’s room. Unmatched hospitality to...
