Pros: -Affordable rate. -Men showed up 5 minutes early, were courteous. They worked through lunch. They did everything I asked. They were careful about the floors. -Lisa, office staff, ordered repair supplies for damages and was also willing to reimburse me for cost of materials.
Cons: -While there was room in their truck, the workers claimed to need a second trip. They lied and told their manager that I told them how to pack their truck, asking that "none of the furniture touch" (Who says that?!) resulting in the need for a second trip. Meanwhile, when I asked them directly why we needed a second trip, they told me they didn't have enough padding supplies. This was confounding, since their manager told me that she easily could have brought them whatever supplies they required. -The movers were terribly slow and made what was supposed to be a 6-8 hour move into an 11 hour day! I paid $400 above the estimated price. Two workers were on their cell phones dealing with their personal issues. Only one of the three men was padding the furniture while the other two waited around. -It is standard for furniture to be wrapped and padded--but the workers asked me every time for each piece and were visibly annoyed when I said yes! They also tried to get me to sign forgoing said padding services so that they're not liable for any damages. Even with the padding, my furniture was still damaged due to clumsiness. They blamed me for the extra time because of wanting the furniture padded. -Damage to furniture and apartment was minimal in cost, but time-consuming to fix. I was unaware of their policy that since the damage wasn't more than $1000, I could not make a claim. This was not the case with the previous mover I've worked with. They also would have paid for the cost of hiring a professional to fix all damages or sent an actual professional. This company does none of these things. -Worst of all, when I complained about the second trip and inefficiency to their manager, Kim, she became extremely defensive, rude and belligerent. I was being proactive in keeping her in the loop, making her aware of my concerns early on, and instead, she said "this lady is trippin'". I remained courteous and spoke in a calm, apologetic tone, but she remained antagonistic. Her gross unprofessionalism was astounding. She accused me of wanting to complain, having already-damaged furniture to avoid paying for the service and get free furniture. She also accused me of adding additional furniture to the apartment from when she physically saw the place to moving day to blame me for her ridiculously inaccurate estimate. (Although another quote from another company had estimated the same amount of time and number of workers). She yelled at me for not tipping the workers for their terrible job, calling me insulting. (The irony!) She ignored my emails and calls after the day of service. When I got in touch again, she changed the story and said that it was my spouse who demanded the truck be packed "without touching", which caused the damage--which was also a lie. Lisa was no less rude when I asked for a partial refund of two hours because I was overcharged and should not have to pay for their mistake and prolonged work-day. They again claimed that we asked the truck be packed a certain way, forcing the second trip, and I reiterated that was not true. She asked me if I was "strapped for cash, because we can give you a job. We're hiring." She then placed me on hold and then hung up on me.
Stay away! After this nightmare, I'd only recommend actual professionals. This company is run by a toxic family of angry people that even their workers griped about. They lie and have no clue about customer service nor how to cope with conflict. Instead of embracing constructive criticism, this company is quick to take it personally and lash out at the customer rather than improve or take any self-accountability. I would much rather have paid more for an efficient team that could treat their customers with kindness and respect. Saving money was...
Read moreWe hired At Your Service to move our furniture and boxes to a storage unit approximately two miles from our home. I will preface this post by saying we did not ask them to wrap all of our stuff with the plastic wrap because it doesn't really protect anything. It's plastic wrap not cushioned wrap. The movers, three young men, showed up over two hours late (not their fault), we fed them dinner, and they began to move our items. An expensive table was dropped from approximately 6' high from the back of the truck and the company is refusing to reimburse us for it. Lisa, not sure of her role in the organization, just notified us again that because we didn't pay for plastic wrap "out of the kindness of her heart" she would have it repaired. We have asked several times what type of wrap would have helped the table survive from such a fall. Which as we all know is none. The table is from West Elm, the solid wood top is trashed along with the heavy duty metal legs and side sections of the table. It's not fixable but we didn't want to cause more drama and said we would see what the repair guy she stated would pick up the table could do.
It's clear the only way this is going to be rectified is through small claims court which we shouldn't have to do. They could put the claim into their insurance company and they need to stop saying that we didn't pay for plastic wrap and that's why it's damaged. It fell 6' onto the road which the movers admitted.
Find another mover. This one won't own up to its mistakes. Again, Lisa feels she's doing us a favor by having a repair guy come but it's a solid wood table and its value is lost. This is disgusting behavior and we as consumers shouldn't have to...
Read moreMovers and one truck showed up on time and smelled of weed. Lead mover did walk through with me and encouraged me to sign the box that says they do not have to wrap everything because it would take too long and increase the invoice amount. He did assure me that he would wrap ALL of my furniture and stuff marked fragile. The Lead mover acted like I was inconveniencing his day which was uncomfortable. There was a young kid that seemed new and there was a very nice man that was very accommodating and pleasant to be around. He hustled and smiled all the way through his shift. They packed the truck up so loosely which looked like things were literally thrown on top of each other. Then the lead said there isn't anymore room in the truck (while smoking his vape) when we still had things to load . I said my estimate includes TWO 26ft trucks. They looked at each other confused and Lead mover asks the polite mover if there was suppose to be two trucks and the gentleman shook his head yes. At that point, I just looked at what we could take out of the truck and load in my vehicle to take. When we arrived at new location. There were a few issues like the young mover ran into a door and marked it up, they drug out a 50 year old cedar chest on it's side across concrete. When they left and we started unpacking is when we saw all the damage. They put together my dining room table legs backwards and left a whole wood piece for the table off. There were huge gouges in my solid wood chairs, three knicks in a solid wood dresser, Leather mirror shredded, broke my sons first place state trophy, scratch on leather couch. I called the office on the following Monday to make a complaint and no...
