I took my 8 year old grandson to Rockport, Tx ER last night, 11/7/23 around 8pm because he was c/o stomach pain and he asked me to please take him to the doctor because he felt so bad. Nurse Kate was extremely rude when dealing with my grandson and Dr Ngowe, (spelling is probably incorrect on name) wasn't much better. Nurse Kate never introduce herself to myself or my grandson. She never smiled, she was very short in conversation, and mostly just barked orders, very incompassionate, unkind and rude. The doctor was very condescing to the fact that I said that I am a nurse of 20 years and that I didn't believe my grandson's GI issues were strep related, she then berated me and stated that I of all people should know that the strep could go to the stomach and cause GI issues. I knew he only had GI issues and it was not strep related. The doctor never listened to bowel sounds, never looked at his throat, never palpated his abdomen. She basically did not do any physical assessment, nor did the nurse. He had no fever, nor any c/o sore throat or any respiratory issues. I decided to leave and notified the staff of that as they all, (the nurses and the doctor) were sitting around the nurses station. I even overheard the doctor telling the other nurses, "She says she's been a nurse for 20 years." Then the rude nurse Kate or Katie was overheard saying loudly, there's no way and laughing. We were not in a room we were seated in chairs right by the nurses' station inside the ER. I asked twice for the results of my grandson's strep test and flu test to which they kept saying it hadn't been long enough. Then when we started to leave the doctor runs out and states that my grandson's strep test was positive. I told her I would be taking him to his pediatrician in the morning and left. His Portland, Tx pediatrician treated us kindly and with caring. The strep test they did at the pediatrician's office was negative. And he was diagnosed with just a plain old stomach virus not related to strep at all. Sadly they would not listen to my concerns at the Rockport, Tx ER and instead chose to be rude and condescending. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I will never treat my patient's the way this ER staff treated me and my 8 year old grandson. If you can't have compassion, listen to and have genuine caring for your patients, then maybe you should do something besides healthcare. Please...
Read moreDr. Chisom Nwoye was awful, judgmental, and rude. Took my 2 year old into the ER for wheezing and shortness of breath, and waited in the ER for an hour. Finally got called back, she asked what was going on, then she (A.) immediately interrupted me and was more concerned about a little week old bruise on his forehead, pressing me and asking me what happened , meanwhile my child is having issues breathing. 😒 (B.) While I stood up and rocked him in the hallway like he asked, she came around the corner and gave me a lecture on how “I can’t hold him like that because he will aspirate.” I was cradling him like a normal baby but with his head a bit tilted up. This lady clearly doesn’t have children. (C.) She told me she’s “concerned” if I would be able to handle him overnight and care for him. She had NO grounds to make an assumption like this, and absolutely not her place. I informed her that this isn’t my first kid and not our first illness. She then gave attitude and said “but will you actually give him his breathing treatments every 2-4 hours?” When I said yes, she said “but you haven’t done it all day now, have you?” With a smirk on her face. This was false as he had multiple treatments throughout the day and I literally informed her of this at the beginning, which she would have heard if she hadn’t interrupted to act more concerned about a bruise. I told her that I called my son’s pediatrician earlier, and they told me that I cannot give him it more than every 4-6 hours, she then rolled her eyes and said “k”. She was trying to find any reason to judge and be condescending. Lastly, she completely misdiagnosed. She said he had croup, yet he has no other symptoms of croup besides wheezing (which can be SO MANY other things). He didn’t even have the cough for it. No fever, nothing. Do not recommend this place strictly because of her, this is my second bad experience with this doctor. I stayed nice and respectful the entire time with her, and yet she still acted very rude. Will avoid this...
Read more𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚!!! I visited this ER two days ago concerned with swollen lymph nodes, and an awful sore on my foot. It took about an hour to see a doctor and once I finally did he only glanced at my foot and told me “it’s fine.” He then asked me, “have you been sleeping around with any nasty people?” in an extremely derogatory and disgusting way of inquiring that I have an STD. I told him no, and he still didn’t believe me. I was given a very small prescription of antibodies and was sent on my way. Today, and since my visit to this ER, my foot has gotten even worse. I decided to trust my gut and visited a different ER, to which I was made aware I have lymphangitis from an infection, IN MY FOOT. There’s a slim chance my leg will be AMPUTATED, though had I listened to this doctor I would have developed sepsis and likely could have died. My current prescription is over 5 times as powerful as the one this ER prescribed. Hopefully I get to keep my leg, but if not you can bet a cooler is going to be dropped off on the front doorstep of Corpus Christi Medical Rockport. This pointless visit cost me $150 for nothing. The nurses were extremely nice, and did a wonderful job calming me down when I got my blood drawn. In no way is this experience a reflection of their character or work. Nonetheless, I do not recommend physician Raymond Choi to anyone who enjoys having feet and legs. (Update: I had VIBRIO,...
