I have never seen such lazy workmanship. Purchased our home and waited patiently for it to arrive just to find out the quality control in this factory is zero. Not oneā¦I repeat not one door shuts properly and latches. Iāve already had to replace the back and front door hardware. All the interior doors sit off the floor 3 inches. Including the bathroomā¦All the hinges have been hung with one screw! Every one rubs a corner. Nothing is level. Nothing is square. I can feel holes in the floor where the vinyl was just laid right over. Discovered that their idea of sheathing is cardboard with no waterproof (tyvec) barrier between the house and the siding. There was no j Chanel used around any door or window so Iām not even a year in and Iām seeing water damage. The cabinets were made out of drywall if you want to call them that. Not one shelf in any of them. Just useless flimsy boxes. The glue they used is stuck to everything. All of the trim is plastic and not one piece actually fits the window it was installed around. They cut it smaller than the actual window to cut cost I guess. I bought this house because it was compliant with my county building codesā¦..as someone whom works in construction Iām Not sure how the factory is calling these buildings to code. Maybe they just donāt have an inspector on site. Oh did I mention the ceiling rafters are 2x2s people. But there isnāt any access to the āatticā space. Also the toilet vents directly into the house. The bath vanity to be exactā¦not through the wall and out the roof like normal. So your house constantly will smell like sewage. I would think long and hard about choosing a different company. It looks like my house came from a high school shop class. Spend your money elsewhere folks. Corners are cut...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou may think buying directly from a factory would be a scary concept, at least we did. However, that misconception couldnāt be further from the truth! Our first contact, Justyn, not only answered all of our questions and concerns but encouraged us to come to the factory to see for ourselves the quality and professionalism they have. Do not let the appealing prices deter you from thinking too good to be true! Far from it! In reality, dealing with a āmiddleā guy only to get paid for work they make you do any way ā¦trust me save yourself the headache, heartache and your wallet! We went to the factory took a tour and saw first hand how our new home will be built step by step, giving you the opportunity to ask questions you didnāt even know you had! Then you get to not only see all the different styles, colors and options but you get a break down price for each option right then! No excuses of āI need to call the factory to see if they can do that or I donāt know the price of that itemā or worse ā¦wonāt give you the prices! Every step of the way we knew all the prices up front so we could add or delete to give us the most for our budget. And honestly, between you and me, what I saved going factory direct NEVER did I dream I would get all the extras in my budget but I was able to add even more! And then you know that saying ātime is moneyā? The amount of time I saved going direct - unbelievable! As you can see, I am a very happy camper!!! Do yourself a favor, I encourage you, call up - ask questions better yet schedule a tour⦠canāt hurt but it certainly may actually put you into your dream home! Everyone on staff and I mean everyone we spoke toā¦. very friendly, extremely knowledgeable but most importantly we felt they had our best interest in mind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpon arrival, Kevin and I spoke about what I was looking for in a home and how the structure would hold up compared to other homes. He then took me on a complete tour of how the homes are built from the trailer/wheels to the roof, and beyond. I was very impressed how the outlets were connected to a stud. AND, beyond that, the knowledge that Kevin had in explaining each and every step that goes into making these homes, a very well structured and built home. Every detail, down to how long the nails are that they use, to how strong this type of "glue" is to withstand 90 mile an hour winds and doesn't melt in the heat, that is used in the beam structure of the roof. Now that, is impressive! After the tour of the factory, Kevin took me inside the homes on the lot .. explaining about the walls, what appliances come with the home, etc. Another thing that I found impressive ... was that they were "flippable." Yay! Kevin brought me into his office, and we talked "numbers." Once again, impressed. He gave me brochures to take home with some prices ... I keep leaning towards the Greenwood. I have my work cut out for myself in the next week or so and a LOT of thinking and praying. I am very glad that I took the day, to learn about what goes into the structure of these homes, and to have Kevin explain it to me. I asked questions, he had the answers....
