Mountain Shadows Plaza — Local services in Rohnert Park

I grew up down the street from the shopping center, so I've known it since it was Roger Wilco and then Pacific Market and now neighborhood Wal-Mart. I must say, the Wal-Mart seems to have succeeded the most compared to the prior ones at the same location. This neighborhood didn't need a fancy Pacific Market- it needed groceries that were of quality but also at a discounted rate.. That's exactly what Neighborhood Wal-Mart gave the area. Sure, there's a larger, "normal" Wal-Mart just down the street (end of Golf Course where it meets Redwood Drive) that's been there for as long as i can remember, but the Neighborhood Wal-mart isn't your average Wal-Mart. Its a grocery store with Wal-Mart's name behind it, bringing you their buying power and strategies which Ashley ensures the lowest price around. Now take the Neighborhood Wal-Mart and throw in a smoke shop, a fro yo spot, UPS Store, Patelco bank, a donut shop, and a MUCH NEEDED 24 Hour Laundry Matt (I believe it may be only one of only two in all if Rohnert Park/Santa Rosa) and you have yourself a perfect little mix of stores that supplies the areas...

They have a lot of nice little shops in here. The donut shop that was there was excellent but it's now gone. The reason I was there that day is because now they have a See's Candy shop there instead of having to go to Santa Rosa or Petaluma I've got one right here in town. Only difference is Petaluma store gives a 10% discount for veterans. For some reason See's Candy does not do it at all their stores. A strip mall for the neighborhood that is obviously affected by the downturn in the economy and it’s a bit of a hodgepodge of businesses that don’t all make sense. Subway, Starbucks, See’s Candies, Neighborhood Walmart, Real Estate broker, Dance Studio, Pet Store, yadda yadda yadda. It needs more sparkle for the local businesses like the Donut Shop that’s perpetually closed. The laundry mat is 24 hour, and it gets some unique clientele in the wee hours where security SUV has to circle round and round. This laundry mat needs...
