Puente Hills Landfill — Local services in Rose Hills

First thing's first, how to get here. Do not follow Google Maps directions ( at least, for now ). Google Maps will lead you further down the street where you'll need to make a u-turn. Once you exit the freeway, the entrance is right there, across the street from the Crossroads Retail Court. It's a big entrance, you can't miss it unless you're a dolt like me and followed Google Maps.

Secondly, as with most other LA County landfills, if you're under a ton of waste, they charge you the flat rate for 1 ton. At the time of writing, ( June 2025 ) the cost was $99/ton. Next month, in July of 2025, the rate goes up to $107.19/ton. Outside of LA County, most landfills will weigh you in/out for an exact cost if you're under a ton. For guys over a ton, this facility will weigh you in/out. Just be wary, if you're going to get rid of 1 mattress, it's probably not worth it. Just call the bulk-pickup service for your city. I had half a truckload of waste that I couldn't get rid of any other way so I had to come here.

The staff was friendly but they're usually not very sociable, which is understandable. The dump area is covered inside of a warehouse that uses water misters to cut down on dust. I went in the morning but I imagine unloading on a hot summer day is more pleasant than other landfills.

Also, unlike most other dumps, this place does not care what city you come from. Just pay the fee and do your deed.

Overall, pretty good spot but just make sure you have a full load otherwise it's a waste of money.

Also, there's been some confusion on whether or not this spot is open at all. The landfill itself closed in 2013 but the MRF facility that collects trash is open. Trash is...

UPDATED - some of the best and most diligent customer service I have experienced. I was originally overcharged for my dump load. Based only on the information provided in my review, a representative tracked me down to try and rectify the situation. She was very professional and personable. She took down my transaction information and within a couple weeks, she did her investigation and automatically reversed the erroneous charge. Normal review would have been 3 or 4 stars because the experience wasn't perfect, and their employee on site didn't really care, but the exceptional follow up warrants the 5 stars. They over charged me and was suppse to return my money that they owe me and it has been over a month and i still have not recieved any money back.i wondef how many people they did this to..they should be weigh the dump and there guessing the weight. I spoke up ..if i never spoke up they would of came up on extra money...never again...
